EUSTRESS - what it is and why you need it.
Stress in general gets a really bad wrap these days. Everyone's trying to manage it or avoid it.
After all it is linked with many physical ailments such as heart disease, cancer, dementia, and many many more..
But hold on exercise is also a stress on the body, so are exams, job interviews, starting a business, you get the idea.
So back to EUSTRESS. EU as in Euphoria. EUSTRESS is the the kind of stress which has the potential to lead to a release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, Endorphins and norepinephrine (adrenaline).
Basically a stress that can lead to an elated feeling, sense of achievement, feeling of progression..
Even more simply it is stress which leads to growth. This stress unlike its counterpart DISTRESS actually has been shown to improve your health and lower all cause mortality..
So you see there is a big difference in been in EUSTRESS and DISTRESS.
Yet another beautiful thing about EUSTRESS. As it builds the bodys tolerance for stress it allows you to cope with more in a healthy manor.
Whereas DISTRESS lowers your ability to handle more stress. This can lead to people getting to the point where they cannot handle any stress at all. A DANGEROUS position.
So my point!!!
Make sure you're not avoiding EUSTRESS in your attempts to avoid stress. There is no avoiding stress completely in this life so make sure you use EUSTRESS to build yourself up so you're ready when it comes.
