What a couple of days of golf…… played rochdalegolfclub pro am yesterday….. some ok golf and didn’t capitalise on shots then onto Shaw Hill Golf & Spa Hotel today with a pretty perfect start with a HOLE IN 1 on the 1st Par 4!
A course record was up for grabs and a couple of bad tee shots coming down the stretch cost me for a lvl par finish after getting it to -4 with 5 to play.
There’s not many 1’s on a par 4 so pretty happy achieving that goal…..
1 event left in our race in the Order of Merit left. Also we have the 2 leading players to represent PGA in Lancashire going to play a team event…. Currently third and waiting on team selection - a little unsure if my golf at the moment is up for that challenge - I don’t know 🤷
Thanks to Longridge Golf Club and diverse_gym for their support this year - it has been very long year and a lot of ups and down (just not with my short game! 😂).

I played my 1/4 final match against CDA Golf - Cameron today. Unfortunately I didn’t play very well but getting beat by this top class man was ok. It was great to see some Darwen Golf Club members out supporting him. Thank you to Darren Sutcliff from Longridge Golf Club for being on the bag today….. very important when my range finder broke at the top of the 1st hole for a little “jog” back down the hill 🤣 to get his from the car.
All in all a good match and what a credit to the PGA in Lancashire and the golf club Cam is. Top golfer and more importantly a gent. Good luck in the next round Cam 👍🏼

Played 10 holes today at Longridge Golf Club with junior captain Danny Mills and his Dad Ian. Testing out my new grip and swing work done yesterday. Some steady golf and a tidy card. The game might be back!?!? 🤞

Doing some graft on the golf swing before junior coaching at Longridge Golf Club today. The feel difference in these 2 swings compared to the look of them is amazing. One of the reasons why I still love playing…. Going through the grind and understanding how hard this game can be and making changes to your swing is hard work.

Played in 2 events this week and the struggle continues…… firstly at Ormskirk for the Lancashire PGA Championship I was disappointed with my long game and have developed a left miss with my irons. Putting was very streaky with some good putts but also some 3 putts thrown in.

Friday at Leyland some better signs with a level par 70 but I’m still not 100% sure where the ball is going and have to go through my library of swing feels to fight the left miss. A change of putter gave me some more consistent speeds on the greens.

Only a few events left now so still going to keep working at it for a strong finish to the season.

A few people have been asking, so here’s the details for anyone wanting to come and watch! ⛳️

Thursday the 3rd of September I’m playing in the Quarter Final of the Lancashire PGA Singles Knockout at Darwen Golf Club.

I’m up against Simon Lucas, with the match getting underway at 9:50am.

Should be a great match and hopefully we can get a few of you down to watch and support! 👊
