WOW! 🤯🇬🇧
This weekend, we had the absolute privilege of hosting the first-ever Parkour UK British Championships right here at Street Monkeys Academy… in little old Preston!
What a weekend it was.
The biggest highlight? One of our very own athletes, Liam, has earned his place on Team GB and will now go on to represent Great Britain at the World Championships.
We honestly couldn’t be prouder.
Liam has trained with us since he was just 6 years old, and anyone who knows him knows the dedication he has. He trains day in, day out, constantly pushing himself to become better. This weekend, all of that hard work paid off. Watching his journey from a young child walking through our doors for the first time to now representing his country on the world stage is something we’ll never forget.
We’re also incredibly proud of our coaches Sean, Leonie and Ryan, who all stepped onto the competition floor themselves and absolutely smashed it. Competing takes courage, and they represented both themselves and the academy brilliantly.
If you were at the event, you’ll have seen just how much work Coach Sean put into leading the competition on the ground. He represented Street Monkeys with the professionalism, leadership and high standards that we pride ourselves on.
What many people won’t have seen is everything that happened behind the scenes. Months of planning, problem-solving and preparation went into making this event happen. From building the course to organising every last detail, it truly was a team effort. Our incredible staff and volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the weekend, and we simply couldn’t have done it without them.
To every athlete, spectator, volunteer, member of staff, Parkour UK, official and supporter—thank you.
This was a landmark moment for British parkour, and we’re incredibly proud that Street Monkeys Academy played such a significant part in making history.
