Shor-Chana School of Martial Arts was established in Preston in 1995 and is now one of the most well respected Muay Thai gyms in England. He is a Thai ex-army combat instructor, karate black belt, successful boxer and trainer of many Muay Thai national champions. Since he came to England in 1991, his boxers have gained many belts in Muay Thai competitions at national and international level. Class

es are open to men and women of all ages and ability levels, including beginners. All students are taught at their own pace. Children's classes are also available (7-15 years)

Private Lessons are available by arrangement with Master Chana

Hi all,

There are still some items/equipment that we need to get rid of before we finally close the doors for good. These items are available to purchase. These are gloves, shin guards, pads, hand weights, benches, skipping ropes, etc.

The gym will be open from 7.30-8 tomorrow evening for anyone that wants to purchase anything for very cheap/make a donation.

It will be first come first serve so if you are interested, tomorrow evening will be the last opportunity to geat anything you need for training.

Following from the previous post regarding the last two training sessions at Shor Chana, we would like to make sure we have enough space for everyone to be accommodated.

Please can we kindly ask you to privately message us with the day that they intend on training next week.

Thursday session 6pm-7.30pm
Friday Session 5.30pm-7pm

We will also be having something to eat and catch up with each other after the Thursday evening training session. Please include in your private message if you would like to attend before Monday 5pm, so we can booked enough space at an appropriate venue.

With deep regret we have to inform you that Shor Chana School of Martial Arts will be closing 9 June 2023 after 32 years. This has not been an easy decision to make but due to personal reasons, we cannot meet the time requirement needed to continue running the gym around our other personal and family responsibilities.

It has always been our intention to carry on the name of Shor Chana in a way that befits the legacy that Master Chana has created. The service that Master Chana has provided to Muay Thai has been impeccable and unwavering, and that is why Shor Chana School of Martial Arts has been the home of Muay Thai excellence. The teachings, wisdom and love that Master Chana has shared have shaped us over the years, and no doubt will have been instrumental in the growth and development of many others.

We are fully aware that some of the members have paid for an annual membership. With that in mind, we would like to give the opportunity to reimburse anyone for their unused membership. This will be something we will gladly honour until the closure of the gym. Please can you message us or attend the gym during class times to process any refunds by before 9th June. Any refunds after this date cannot be processed.

Our last training session will be on 9th June 2023. We plan to have two farewell training sessions for all the past and current students on Thursday 8th June and Friday 9th June 2023 to show our respects, share some stories, and say goodbye to a gym that has been a huge part of so many of our lives over the last 30 years.

We will also be going out for some food on Friday 9th June 2023 as a collective with Master Chana and other members. Details will follow in due course :))

If you have any personal belongings in the gym, please can we kindly ask you to collect them by the 7th June as the gym will be emptied and cleared by 12th June 2023.

The gym will be closed this coming Monday 29th May for the Spring Bank Holiday.
In addition, the gym will not be open for adult or children’s classes on any Wednesday in June - our apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Gym Times Over Easter

The gym will be closed for Good Friday (07/04/23), Easter Monday (10/04/23) and will also be closed on Tuesday (11/04/23).
The gym will be reopen again as usual on Wednesday (12/04/23).
