It was November 10th 2009, 13 years and 8 days ago, when professional footballer Robert Enke took his own life.
Hannover 96's president at that time, Martin Kind, said "the goalkeeper had been "unstable"... but that it had not been publicly noticed".
Things like this are often not publicly noticed nor even noticed. A person may seem ok but a smile or a laugh can hide the biggest inner battles.
Some media sources years later noted Enke was suffering with depression.
You just never know what someone is going through inside, no matter who they are.
Try to seek help, talk and express your feelings if you feel suicidal.
Also check in on your friends, family and colleagues when you can, you never know how powerful that email, phone call, text or even arrangement to meet up could be. You could save a life but never know it.
