This morning I finished the book 'the obstacle is the way'. It seems that I selected a good time to read it as it feels like there has been obstacle after obstacle lately. (I understand a lot of people are the same and worse off).

Overall I've been doing much better in myself, my physical body is improving, my fitness, health etc but other areas are becoming more problematic. But that is life. We never stop having problems, we replace old problems with new problems.

When life gives you things that you cannot control, look at the things around you that you can control. Chose not to react on instinct and allow your negative thoughts to pass. They will pass, they always do.

Our biggest challenges often lead us to new opportunities that would never have happened without the obstacle ❤🥳

I've parked myself up at Costa (my happy place) and I'm starting my next book. Instead of consuming several doughnuts, like my instinct tells me 😆 🍩

I was doing a review session with one of my clients today, she was feeling a bit crappy the few days before and like she wasn't making progress. I took her measures today and her measurements were all down where she wanted and we could see a difference in the pictures.

This is why checking in, whether it's with a coach or by yourself is a good idea. How will you measure your progress if you aren't measuring your waistline? I take pictures, measures and a scale weight.

There are multiple factors that can effect these numbers but together, we can get a good idea on the way things are going. We then create a plan going forward on how to progress.

It takes a couple of minutes and can be the difference between staying where you are and achieving your goal.

The frequency depends on the person. Some people do it weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You decide which you respond best to.

I used to dread summer. A time when wearing baggy clothes became tougher. If I wore less than a hoodie, everyone would see what I looked like so I'd avoid it the best i could. The image on the left is typical old Amy.

Every year I go more towards the 'f**k it'. This didn't happen all of a sudden, I progressed onto short sleeved cardigans, then tshirts, vest tops and now I'm in my process of getting there with crop tops and sport bras.

The issue is that when we hide our bodies is causes us to be even more in denial and further away from making a change. If you avoid mirros and avoid outfits that you think make you look fat then you don't need to take action!

Now I see my body, and I'm not hiding it away, I actually see the good but also, I see the areas which I'd like to improve. This is really motivational.

Wear the bodycon dresses and shorts now. The only person who gives a damn is you. If you hate it that much, don't walk away from it. Embrace the fear. Take action and improve!!

What's the weirdest thing you did to try and get rid of belly fat?

I used to have one of those ab belts that vibrate. I'd eat a box of jaffa cakes and put it on the highest setting 😄 I'd get cramp, it was painful and did f**k all.

I used to always think about using scissors to cut the fat off.

I used to wear a size under in high waisted 'shaping' knickers, wear them all day while breathing in while wearing a oversized hoodie to cover myself.

I had a shake weight. Er.. if you know you know 🤣 I looked a right bell end!

It's mad the lengths we go to to get the body we want but when it comes to actually putting the work in, exercising and eating better we feel its impossible. I've been there but feel loads better now.

F**k the gimmicks! Embrace the challenge 🥰 it's not as bad as you think

You are never going to change if you don't change your habits. There is sacrifice with everything.

Once you believe you can do something and you get that momentum, anything is possible.

Do things that reassure you that you can do it. Whether it's getting through a workout, climbing a mountain, saying no to a takeaway, hitting a step goal... do those things a lot! Every time you succeed in something you're brain gets the message that you can do it.

You're training your mind to say I CAN to tough situations and eventually, you will think it more than I CAN'T.

Train your body, train your mind. You've got this

I used to hate sports day! People always assume that because of my profession that I'm good at sport and enjoy it. That is not the case...

I love exercise, I love pushing myself and seeing what I am capable of. I'm competitive with myself but have no interest in being competitive with others.

SO I've created my own take on sports day 😊 this will start from Monday 5th July and will continue across the week

It's crazy what structure can do for confidence!

My eating has been a bit all over the place since being a postie. I thought it would get better from quitting but it didn't. I just wasn't in the mood for eating nutrious foods that make me feel good! ... we all have a vice, some people eat, some shop, smoke, gamble, we all have addictive qualities. Mine is unfortunately food due to teaching myself extreme behaviours from a young age. Because I was eating s**t I started to get a bit brainwashed thinking all these toxic thoughts.

The good weather helps. With June I'm mind on Monday I had my RIGHT moment. I've been tracking my calories, eating more fruit and veg, not exercising to burn calories but exercising because it makes me feel good. Its been 5 days and I already feel bloody fabulous and feel like I've lost weight 😄 my weight will be similar but my thoughts have changed!

Ask yourself, does your diet make you feel fabulous or is it contributing to your depressive thoughts?
