What an unforgettable two weeks in Maryland for our seven Junior Blackbirds !

Our Junior Blackbirds have wrapped up an incredible USA tour with Stockport Metros, creating memories that will last a lifetime. From competing against talented teams, learning from coaches from both sides of the Atlantic, to making lifelong friends and experiencing American Lacrosse culture at its finest, it's been an amazing journey from start to finish.

Every player represented Poynton with pride, great teamwork, determination and outstanding sportsmanship both on and off the field. We couldn't be prouder of the effort, attitude and friendships built along the way.

Our U14s took on the Box Lacrosse Collinge Cup in Macclesfield today and produced a fantastic performance throughout the tournament.

The team flew through the league phase with a 100% win record, with excellent displays from everyone involved.

In the semi-final, we faced eventual tournament winners Brooklands. After a slow start, we grew into the game and finished strongly, but unfortunately the early damage had been done and we narrowly missed out on a place in the final.

The boys showed great character to bounce back in the 3rd place play-off against Timperley, putting in another superb performance to secure a 4-1 victory and finish the day on a high.

Tournament MVP goes to Ben, who was outstanding in goal in EVERY game we played!

Goals throughout the tournament were shared between Louis, Lucas, Max, Elliott, Ryan and James – a great team effort all round.

A big thank you also goes to the three players from who joined us for the day. It was a pleasure to have you with us! 🟠🟡📦🥍

Over the last three Saturdays, 21 players from our U16s and U14s have taken on all that Box Lacrosse has to offer....an amazing experience for them and looking at how much they all enjoyed it they'll be back for more in the coming seasons!
