Our U14s took on the Box Lacrosse Collinge Cup in Macclesfield today and produced a fantastic performance throughout the tournament.

The team flew through the league phase with a 100% win record, with excellent displays from everyone involved.

In the semi-final, we faced eventual tournament winners Brooklands. After a slow start, we grew into the game and finished strongly, but unfortunately the early damage had been done and we narrowly missed out on a place in the final.

The boys showed great character to bounce back in the 3rd place play-off against Timperley, putting in another superb performance to secure a 4-1 victory and finish the day on a high.

Tournament MVP goes to Ben, who was outstanding in goal in EVERY game we played!

Goals throughout the tournament were shared between Louis, Lucas, Max, Elliott, Ryan and James – a great team effort all round.

A big thank you also goes to the three players from who joined us for the day. It was a pleasure to have you with us! 🟠🟡📦🥍

Over the last three Saturdays, 21 players from our U16s and U14s have taken on all that Box Lacrosse has to offer....an amazing experience for them and looking at how much they all enjoyed it they'll be back for more in the coming seasons!

Yesterday we celebrated the incredible spirit, commitment and achievements of our junior Lacrosse section across the U12s, U14s and U16s.

Throughout the season, every player has shown determination, teamwork and resilience, whether in training, on match days or in supporting one another as teammates and friends. Our individual awards recognise outstanding performances, effort and attitude, but they also reflect the collective strength of each squad and the positive culture that continues to grow throughout the club.

Every player who has pulled on the shirt this season should be proud of the progress they have made and the memories they have helped create.

We also wanted to acknowledge the dedication of the coaches and team managers whose hard work behind the scenes makes everything possible. From organising training sessions and fixtures to encouraging players through challenges and celebrating their successes, their time, patience and enthusiasm are at the cornerstone of our junior programme.

The growth we see in our young players, not only as Lacrosse players, but as confident and supportive teammates is a reflection of the care and commitment shown by the adults who guide them each week. Thank you to everyone involved for helping make this such a successful and enjoyable season for all three age groups. 🥍

Our U16s came away from Flags on the wrong side of a 16 - 11 loss against Mellor/Sheffield. A game of two halves would best describe this encounter, a sub standard first half performance before a rallying strong second half performance, but unfortunately the damage in the first half left us with to much to do.

Every player gave their all this season and everyone associated with the club should be proud of all 13 of them!

Loss does not define you, how you react going forward is what matters, we will be back! 🟠🥍

A truly amazing game of Lacrosse between Poynton U14s and Mellor U14s....end to end doesn't describe it or in fact give it enough credit for the spectacle and great advertisement for Lacrosse that it was!

Poynton won the game 13 - 11 with superior attacking finesse and excellent, physical defending which ultimately wore a strong Mellor down!

Our U14s are Champions and no one deserved it more! 🏆🥍

Good luck to all our teams this weekend, starting with the 'A' team on Saturday and then the U16s, U14s and 1st team on the Sunday!

This weekend is already an amazing achievement for Poynton being represented so strongly at both Junior and Senior levels!
