WATCH OUT FOR MAJOR CLOSURE OF THE ROAD BETWEEN POTTON AND SANDY IN AUGUST

The main road between Potton and Sandy is likely to be completely closed during the day, in August for up to 4 weeks, while major work takes place on overhead power lines on an area of road near the RSPB.

The closure is currently planned from 10th August to 10th September. Of course it's possible they start a little later, and f the contractor finishes earlier the road may re-open sooner than planned.

We are told the work will be taking place between 7am and 5pm so the road may well be open overnight dependent on what is happening with the works.

We have had Highways double-check that the only way the work could be carried out on the power lines, was through a complete closure.

The council has however, been able to negotiate school buses passing through in the morning/afternoon, but at present it doesn't look like any other vehicles will be able to drive along this road during the dates in question.

Once it begins, there will of course be signs out on the road, so motorists can be aware.

We have also raised with CBC concerns that there could be significantly more vehicles driving through Everton. The council has responded that although it cannot ban motorists from taking this route, there will be plenty of signage out to encourage people to take the official diversion which is to travel via the A1.

We’re really sorry to let everyone know that our slide will be out of action until further notice.

Unfortunately, due to health and safety reasons, we have no choice but to close it. The safety of our customers will always come first.

We know some of you, especially the little ones, may be disappointed, so we’re bringing in a bigger inflatable instead to make sure there’s still plenty of fun to be had! 🎉
