Welcoming a new addition to my training equipment. This bad boy will get plenty of usage.

Slam Balls are great tools for weight loss and building functional strength. I normally use them on my clients in gyms but this being the time of coronavirus I have had to invest in one for private use. I cant wait to start to get to grips with this one and takes some pictures of great exercises.

Fallacy of sticking to Cardio (aerobic) exercise as a means of weight loss.

We are halfway through January and a lot of people are already wondering why they have not lost nearly as much weight as they would have wanted even though they have been doing loads of cardiovascular exercise like running, cycling etc. I will be updating why solely sticking to cardiovascular exercise like running and cycling isn't always the most efficient option, Watch this space.

START THE YEAR AS YOU MEAN TO GO ON

This statement is not always what it appears to be and certainly New Years Resolutions isn't necessarily all about hard work and effort and it shouldn't be either. All target and goal setting is destined to fail without the right approach and mentality. It is that time of the year when most people set themselves unrealistic expectations brought on by the excesses of Christmas. This unrealistic expectations are brought on by the desire to lose weight as soon as possible (unfortunately media makes this idea seem realistic and healthy). This approach often fails because with the other demands of life and New Year we simply don't have the time or the energy to accomplish this and the feeling of not achieving what we set out out to do creates an atmosphere of failure and resentment. The statement Under promise and over deliver has never been more appropriate and fitting. If you set yourself realistic targets for instance 3 workouts a week rather than 5 or 6 times a week and you find yourself managing 4, the feeling of accomplishment will create a positive approach and motivate you more. Equipped with the right programme this is possible and attainable.
