Portsmouth Police are holding a free bike marking event in Palmerston Road on Saturday 21st February! Details below ⬇️

🚲 Free Bike Register Event – Saturday 21st February

Officers from Central Southsea & St Jude’s will be on Palmerston Road, outside Southsea Library, on Saturday 21st February between 11:00 and 13:00 offering free bike marking and registration.

We’ll be marking and registering bikes on the BikeRegister National Cycle Database, completely free! The process takes under three minutes and significantly improves the chances of your bike being returned if it’s ever lost or stolen.

We’ll be using the BikeRegister Membership Plus Kit, which includes visible, tamper‑resistant labels. These markings make bikes far harder for thieves to resell and far less likely to be targeted. Bikes with these labels are 83% less likely to be stolen than unmarked bikes.

As part of the process, your bike will be added to the national database. For information on BikeRegister’s Privacy Policy, please visit:
https://orlo.uk/R4FOK

Come along, get your bike protected, and speak to your local officers about cycle security. We look forward to seeing you there. 🚲💙

Their trishaws are three-wheeled cycles with a passenger cab at the front and electric assist, making the rides smooth and accessible for all. It also offers passengers the chance to engage with different age groups.

While the service is free, donations are welcomed.

The Cycling Without Age initiative is part of The YOU Trust and its wider mission to improve lives across the communities it serves. They provide their trishaw service in Portsmouth and Hayling Island. To learn more or arrange a ride, please visit www.theyoutrust.org.uk/cycling-without-age
