The fixtures are out and the countdown to the new season is officially on 💛🖤

Another exciting campaign awaits for the 2s, with plenty of tough tests, local battles and opportunities to build on last season’s progress.

One fixture that always catches the eye is our pre-Christmas trip to the Isle of Wight, while we’ll round off the season back at Rugby Camp with a home clash against Alton.

The boys are ready to get back to work and make this a season to remember.

📢 2026/27 1st XV LEAGUE FIXTURES ARE HERE 📢

The wait is over - the road to the new season starts now 💛🖤

We kick things off at Rugby Camp after the delay to the start of the season as we welcome Bournemouth, before what promises to be another exciting campaign full of big tests, local rivalries and crucial league clashes.

One date already circled in the calendar is our pre-Christmas match hosting Sandown & Shanklin, a fixture that always promises plenty both on and off the pitch 🎄🍻

After going so close last season, the boys are ready to go again and challenge at the top end of the table.

🚨SEASON START DELAYED🚨

Following the unprecedented weather conditions experienced across the country this summer, the RFU has delayed the start of the 2026/27 season in the interests of player safety and welfare.

Our opening season fixture is now scheduled for:

📆 Saturday 26th September
🏉 Portsmouth 1st XV v Bournemouth II
📍Rugby Camp, PO3 5EP

The revised date remains subject to conditions continuing to improve, and we’ll keep everyone updated as information becomes available.

It means waiting a little longer to get the season underway, but player welfare has to come first.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Rugby Camp 🖤💛

We’re delighted to announce Liam Avis as Portsmouth Rugby Club’s Club Captain for the 2026/27 season 💛🖤

💬 What does it mean to you to be selected as Club Captain?
“It’s a great honour to be selected as Club Captain for the club I’ve played at since colts. I aim to help push the club forward and really build a club at the centre of the community.”

💬 What are you looking forward to for the season ahead?
“Developing as a group and really pushing across all levels of our men’s rugby, and the first game day running out at Rugby Camp.”

The road to the 2026/27 season starts here 💛🖤

A busy pre-season awaits, beginning with a senior squad fixture away to Havant 2/3s, before both the 1st XV and 2nd XV travel to Guildford for what will be two tough tests ahead of the new campaign.

We’ll then round things off under the lights with what is becoming our annual Thursday Night Lights Inter-Club Match, the perfect way to conclude pre-season and build excitement for the season ahead ⚡️

Pre-season officially gets underway on Tuesday 7th July as we begin preparations for the 2026/27 season 💛🖤

After a hugely successful campaign, the hard work starts again as we look to go one better this season. Whether you’re a returning player, new to the club, or looking to get back into rugby, all are welcome.

Training will then continue every Tuesday and Thursday throughout pre-season.
