Hello, my name is Lewis and I’m your new club President.
I started playing polo as a complete beginner not having sat on a horse until my first taster day however throughout my childhood I've always been fascinated by polo and felt that university would be a great place to start. I cannot stress how enjoyable it’s been so far.
Recently I was thrilled to walk away from the SUPA summer nationals placing second, having never entered a grass tournament before. It was a privilege to represent our university this summer and it will continue to be a privilege moving forward. Kudos to our instructors
My most memorable moment with the club has to have been our summer national final against Oxford Brooke’s university, it was by far the toughest game we’ve played. Having drawn I was thrilled not to have lost a single chukka to any of our opponents. It was awesome playing along side Liam (VP) and Abi.
Our annual Sicily trip was another highlight, it was an opportunity to bond with club members as well as try some alternative riding styles, I certainly won’t be forgetting my slightly unprompted dismount from Toby! (Somewhat of a repeat of my SUPA winter fall), let’s just say I folded like a deckchair .
Im looking forward to leading the club into the near future. I think it’s a fantastic opportunity to bring the club up to speed after slight halt in progress due to COVID19. I look forward to working alongside Liam, Keira and Espen, we hope to deliver the best experience possible. Im assured that there are many bustling activities and opportunities being planned.
I’m looking forward to getting to know all of our new members!
Oh, I forgot to mention my favourite pony is undoubtedly Bandit! 🐎
