The concrete base has now been poured in the main pool, and the team are getting ready to work on the walls.

You can see the brown structures supporting the walls in this photo. These are called shutters, or shuttering. They sit against the steel reinforcement bars and act as a mould, holding the concrete in place while it sets and helping to create the shape of the pool walls.

The walls at the deep end have already been completed. The team are now working their way around the rest of the pool, bringing us one step closer to seeing the finished shape emerge.

Check out this structure! 👀🏗️

We may have taken a break over the summer, but the site team certainly didn't.

The steel fixers have been hard at work getting this section of the building in place.

What you're looking at here is the building at its full height, although it's not yet at its full length. This section you can see will be home to the fitness studios, spin studio, GP surgery and consulting rooms.

It's exciting to finally see the building taking shape and get a real sense of the scale of what's being created. 💙

Not everything on site is as it seems! 👀

What looks like a collection of giant plastic crates is actually an underground attenuation tank.

This clever drainage feature is designed to temporarily store rainwater during periods of heavy rainfall before releasing it slowly into the drainage network. It helps reduce flood risk and supports sustainable water management across the site.

Once covered over, you'll never know it's there, but it will be working hard behind the scenes for years to come.

Work is continuing on the learner pool area. 🌊

Although it's not quite as far along as the main pool, good progress is being made with the blinding layer currently being installed.

You'll also spot a deeper excavation nearby, which will house the plant room and balance tank. This is the pool's control centre, containing the pumps, filters and systems that keep the water clean, heated and circulating properly.

The deep end is making great progress. 💪

A waterproof membrane is now in place and teams are busy installing steel reinforcement that will help form the pool structure. A large steel frame connects the foundations deep below ground to the framework above.

Once concrete is poured, these elements will work together to create a strong, durable pool structure designed to stand the test of time.

As work continues at Bransbury Park, one of the most interesting discoveries on site so far has been this ceramic hot water bottle 🏺

A quick Google search indicates this dates from the early 1900s - it was uncovered during construction works. What makes the find even more remarkable is that the main body and stopper were discovered separately, days apart.
After potentially spending decades underground, the two pieces have now been reunited once again.

Behind the scenes, the foundations for the main pool are taking shape. 🏊

The area has now been blinded with a layer of concrete, creating a smooth, level surface ready for construction. A layer of insulation has been installed around the pile cages, while a damp-proof membrane is being added to protect the structure from moisture.

There may not be any water in sight just yet, but every step brings us closer to seeing the new pool come to life.
