What is our purpose in life? Who we really are?
These are the questions we often ask from ourselves and most of the time...now let's be honest...we do not know the answers.
We are all programmed from very early age to reach for more, improve and develop. We need to be more educated, have bigger income, have a house, a car, a dog and partner, children, a gym membership and two saving accounts. We have to thick everything off the list to finally earn happiness.
And often...when we are finally there what is it that we experience? We are not happy...we burnt out, tired, exhausted and while we were looking for our purpose and our happiness we forgot to see them where they were. Right in front of us.
This is where dharma - our given nature - comes into the picture.
The fire is not thinking about how to be a better fire. The fire's dharma is to be a fire, be hot, burn things.
A shelf on the wall is trying to hold more each day to prove something to the other shelves. The shelf is just simply hanging there. The shelfs dharma is to be a shelf.
So why do we - human - are trying to reach for the moon and constantly prove something? Why can we not see happiness in the smallest things around us and just be in the present? Why are we making things more difficult than what they really are?
The life is not difficult. The way we see life and the world around us is what makes is difficult. We make it difficult.
Let's just be what we are. Human. Living on Earth. Simple.
And how can you make things simpler for yourself?
Here is a step by step guide for you:
1. Move - 20 minute a day is enough to lower the stress hormone in your body and will allow you to sit calm for your 2-5 minutes meditation.
2. Meditate - 2 minutes a day
Meditation has many scientifically proven benefits. You can increase self-awareness, reducing negative emotions and it will help to keep you in the present.
3. Eat something nutritious. It does not have to be a huge amount. Make sure you eat and drink healthy which good for your body and SOUL too. (my go to is chamomile tea with honey β€οΈ)
Just follow these easy 3 steps a few times a week and see the difference!
