On this day 75 years ago. Thousands of American, British, Canadian and many other soldiers from the across the Commonwealth and the Free World embarked on a mighty endeavour. Thousands left these shores across the English Channel to the beaches and fields of Normandy and many never returned home.

I would like to give thanks to the Veterans and remember the Fallen that served on this day. They fought to drive the world away from a world of darkness and tyranny. They fought to liberate N**i Occupied Europe and without these brave souls, we wouldn't have our freedom today!
