Great 4 hour special Saturday just gone. Black Belts and students from Portsmouth, Brighton and London. We went on a journey that covered. Only a few pics from the end as i nearly forgot all about that.
1. Creative movement [taijutsu] the back bone of our system were movement timing and distance is used to create a response to attacks. Giving the students more of a understanding on how to use these skills.
2. Randori skills and games to create a fun environment to teach the ability to move the opponent and upset his balance in phase one. And then to deliver sweep based take downs in phase 2. With points and penalties for achieving key objectives. It was a lot of fun and when you are enjoying the process you remember and learn the skills easier.
3. Keri Waza - drills and skills to build effective kumite movements that works for kicking and counter kicking.
4. And finally for the senior students a follow up from the last 4 hour special. To build and then demonstrate to the class Tanto [knife] techniques from Seiza [seated position ] against attacks but this time using live blades . The less experienced student went back to taijutsu, to defend against right cross street type attacks.
Great work by all, you definitely earned that beer we had afterwards, thanks to all for your support

BBD Portsmouth children's [Hattori.]class After a full on lesson on the hotter day so far. We let some steam off . With a obstacle course with a dodge the water pistol section on the end. And to finish off 5 minutes of shot / soak the adults. Great lesson kids I am proud of you all.
