Meat is a massive part of my diet. I tend to steer towards fatty types such as beef, pork, duck and salmon. I prefer the taste, and these are also better for my specific body type (I need about 3500 calories a day to maintain my weight). I also try to have organs due to the impressive micronutrient profiles.

I tend to include a large amount of different coloured fruits and vegs in my diet, to get a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. I tend to have a few pieces of fruit as part of my breakfast, always including avocado. For veg, I lean towards carrots, red cabbage and green beans.

I don’t eat dairy as I’m allergic, so I tend to replace dairy products with coconut products (yoghurts, milk etc).

Tbh, it’s not too hard for me to eat nutritious foods as I genuinely prefer the taste of “healthy” stuff, compared to junk food. If I were to indulge in something though, it would be stuff that I bake myself like dairy free cakes and cookies!

If you’ve been training half decent for that long, chances are you look and move way better than you think.

In those years, you’ve accumulated a lot of gym sessions, all while the average person doesn’t do anything.

Don’t feel disheartened. You’re doing better than you think.

We typically like the stuff that we’re good at.

So if you’re in the beginning stage of your journey right now and you’re not enjoying things.. if you stick it out, I promise that things will change.

Once you start to see the changes in your body and strength levels, you become addicted to seeing the progress.

Keep going. Things will change, and it’ll be worth it.

As some of you know, I organised my first wellness retreat this year in Corfu.

Unfortunately, for numerous reasons, I had to cancel it. I was facing losing thousands.

Is it a good idea to publicly admit that things didn’t work out? Maybe not. But I value being real, and I don’t shy away from owning my shortcomings.

Failure matters. If you’re afraid of it, you’ll never try anything new—you’ll stay safe, comfortable, and stuck in your lane. And I’m proud that I had the balls to try something big.

When Corfu didn’t work out, I pivoted and launched a retreat in Somerset instead. Three weeks later, it’s almost sold out.

Sometimes failure isn’t the end of the story— it’s just a part of it.

I do want to try again for Corfu in the future — I’m just waiting for the right moment and an adjusted version. There are also just 3 spaces left for my Somerset retreat in November. Get in touch if you want one!

Another seminar done ✅

Yesterday, I invited in special guest speaker Steve Afshar, owner of The Blueprint to Success, to share stories and give tips on how to fix problematic behaviours. We had an in-depth look at how the past impacts the present and the future, and how to rewire your thinking to fix these behaviours for good. This information was gold. I’m pleased that everyone resonated with what Steve said, and left with some many positive takeaway’s. 🙌🏻

To be honest, these events are a terrible money maker for me. Between all the planning and the event itself, I probably earn the equivalent of about £4 an hour. But it’s not about the money - it’s about organising an event that lets people reflect, learn and grow. Having the ability to influence is awesome. 💪🏼

We’re all on our own individual journey.

We’re not competing with anyone else, and we’re definitely not in a race with anyone else. Because we all have our own battles to face.

If you’re a woman with PCOS, you can’t compare your progress to a woman with no underlying health issues. And if you’re a guy dealing with chronic stress and a demanding lifestyle, you can’t compare yourself to the 20 year old guy living with his parents.

Some people have it easier.
Some people have it harder.
That’s how it works unfortunately.

This is why one of the most important traits i can hav as a personal trainer is to have empathy. My job isn’t to force everyone into the same plan and timeline. Instead, it’s to understand the specific obstacles my clients are facing.

Progress looks different on everyone - and that doesn’t make your progress any less valid. Keep showing, and keep moving forward. That’s all that matters.

Gains 🔥

I’ve been PTing for 18 months now. In that time, she’s made a ton of progress and become one of my very best clients! 🙌🏼

Before we worked together, she wasn’t following a plan and wasn’t fully pushing herself in her sessions. These are two super common issues that can really hold someone back. ⏪

When I did put her on a plan, and increased the intensity of her sessions.. her progress exploded. Now, she’s stronger and fitter than ever before, while having a lot more muscle on her frame!

Despite being a menace, she’s a joy to train and I have a lot of respect for the dedication and consistency that she’s shown since we started working together! 💪🏼
