One of my all-time favourite quotes ๐
We often get caught up in the fact that if we want to make improvements in our training, diet, recovery, lifestyle, then we need the "optimal" dosage of each.
And when we don't get that, it's easy to think we've mucked up and ruined everything. This is often seen in athletes trying to get in all of their prescribed sessions or those trying to lose weight cycling through a binge-starvation cycle.
We need to remember that something is almost always better than nothing, and that just because something isn't perfect, that doesn't mean that everything else is bad.
Can't get to the gym three days a week, but can get there once? You've still gotten one day's worth of training in more than if you hadn't done any ๐
Running late with work and only have 30 mins to train? No problem, warm up and get 1-2 key exercises in, and you'll be stronger than if you hadn't done anything ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Went out with friends on Saturday and ate half the menu (me pretty much every time we go out for food)? That's fine, have yourself a good breakfast and you'll be healthier than if you just decided to Deliveroo McDonald's brekkie in the morning ๐
Just remember:
Something is almost always better than nothing, and progress is always progress, no matter how great or small.
