Reasons you might not be reaching your goals 🎯
You’re not training with intent
- your sessions shouldn’t feel like a doddle, you need to be pushing yourself. I’m not saying you need to be leaving the gym throwing up but you need to put some effort in, pushing your body through effort it hasn’t been through before
You’re not eating to support your goals
- you can’t out train a poor diet, if you’re not eating enough protein your body is going to recover or build muscle. If you’re overeating you will gain fat, you need to eat aligning with your goals to reach them. At least nourish your body with what it needs
You’re not following the programme
- the basics work, you have to rinse and repeat to make progress. Repeat the same exercises week in week out and progressively overloading. Some exercises will feel hard to begin with but you have to keep doing them to get stronger
You’re not recovering well
- sometimes sleep will be up and down but if you’re staying up until 11pm every night when your children wake up at 5:30am then this isn’t going to help, get to bed at a reasonable time. Don’t over train, more is not always better. Minimise your stress
Your expectations were too high
- don’t set yourself goals and habits you can’t reach, start low and then build up once you’ve achieved those
You’re relying on motivation
- motivation is a feeling, it won’t always be there. Sometimes you just need to get s**t done
