Such was Harry Colt's genius, he managed to create two short holes on such interesting land that bunkers need not exist.

Despite only being a couple of years old, the new holes on the Valley look like they've always been there.

Looking out over the 18th green towards the 16th, it's easy to see why the work has catapulted the course into the GB&I Top 100.

The 7th epitomises the Valley's minimalistic use of bunkering.

A single bunker frames the hole, and the closer you play to it, the stronger your angle into the green. The dunescape does the rest.
