Important Community Meeting
EGM - 30 September

We are hoping that enough members of the community will come forward to become Trustees and help secure the future of Staffin Hall.

Without new Trustees, the Hall may be forced to begin the process of closure. This could have significant knock-on effects for the wider community, including the community shop and local businesses that rely on the Hall as an important community asset.

Your support will make a real difference.

Please come along on the 15th and find out how you can help keep Staffin Hall at the heart of our community.

for more information see

After a number of years of voluntary service, the current Directors/Trustees of Staffin Community Hall Association intend to step down from their roles on 30 September 2026.

📢 Highland Children and Young People Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund 2026/27 Now Open

The Highland Children and Young People's Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund 2026/27 opens today, Monday 7 September 2026.

Funding is available for community-based projects that support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 5-24 (or up to 26 if care experienced) and their families across Highland.

The fund aims to strengthen:
✅ Prevention and early intervention
✅ Emotional wellbeing and resilience
✅ Confidence and social connection
✅ Access to local support
✅ Whole-family approaches to wellbeing

Applications are particularly encouraged from partnerships and organisations that can demonstrate trauma-informed, community-based and co-designed approaches that help reduce barriers to participation and reach under-represented groups.

The fund supports the vision of ensuring children, young people and families receive the right support, in the right place, at the right time, through strong collaboration between communities, the third sector and public services.

📣📣📣 PORTREE MEN'S SHED MEETING

The Scottish Men's Shed Association are holding a meeting on Tuesday the 15th of September to gauge interest in a Men's Shed in Portree. The Trust has been involved in discussions about a Men's Shed previously and we think this would be a fantastic addition to the area.

Everyone welcome.

Please help get the word out by sharing the information with anyone who you think might be interested.

We have digital and hard copies of the poster at the office. If anyone would like one to put up in their business or place of work send us a message.
