One of the things we're most proud of at the Skye Half Marathon & 10K is the opportunity it gives runners to support local charities and community organisations.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our participants, supporters and donors, this year's event raised an amazing £2,100 for our charity partners:

These organisations provide vital support to people and families across Skye and Lochalsh, and we're delighted that our runners have helped contribute to their important work.

💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Celebrating Our Community Groups 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💙

One of the things that makes the Skye Half Marathon & 10K so special is the incredible support we receive from local community groups. From staffing water stations and marshalling the course to helping with registrations, parking, catering and race-day logistics, these groups play a vital role in making the event happen.

We're delighted that, in addition to the £2,100 raised for our charity partners, we're also able to donate a further £3,500 this year to the community groups that helped us deliver the event.

These donations are a small way of recognising the huge contribution they make—not only to our race, but to the wider community throughout the year. We simply couldn't do what we do without their support, enthusiasm and willingness to get involved.

👨‍👧‍👦🏃‍♂️ Happy Father's Day! 🏃‍♀️👨‍👧‍👦

Today we're celebrating all the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures who have supported runners every step of the way.

Whether you were on the start line, cheering from the roadside, volunteering at a water station, driving runners to Portree at the crack of dawn, or patiently listening to endless conversations about training plans and race times—thank you.

The Skye Half Marathon & 10K wouldn't be the same without the encouragement, support and inspiration that so many fathers bring to our running community.

Here's to all the dads who ran with us, supported us, and helped make the 2026 event such a memorable day.

As we reflect on another fantastic Skye Half Marathon & 10K, we'd like to extend our sincere thanks to our two major sponsors, Bakkafrost Scotland and NFU Mutual Lochaber, Skye & Outer Hebrides, for their generous support of this year's event.

Community events of this scale simply wouldn't be possible without the backing of organisations that recognise the value of bringing people together, encouraging participation in sport, and supporting the communities in which they operate.

🏃‍♂️🏅 Skye Half Marathon 2026 1st Male Skye Resident – Dean MacLeod 🏅🏃‍♂️

A huge congratulations to Dean MacLeod, representing Skye & Lochalsh Running Club, who was the 1st Male Skye Resident home at the 2026 Skye Half Marathon! 👏

Dean made a welcome return to the Skye Half Marathon field this year, having last raced here in 2021, when he finished an impressive 6th overall. Remarkably, his 2026 performance came in at 1:16:23 was just 0.23 seconds slower than the time he recorded five years ago—some quality running.

Competing in a strong field of athletes from across the UK and beyond, Dean once again flew the flag for both Skye and Skye & Lochalsh Running Club, claiming the local men's title with a superb performance.

Congratulations, Dean, on a fantastic run and a thoroughly deserved achievement. We hope to see you back on the start line again next year! 🎉🏅

🏃‍♀️🏅 Skye Half Marathon: 1st Female Skye Resident – Shannon MacLeod 🏅🏃‍♀️

A huge congratulations to Shannon MacLeod, who is confirmed as the 1st Female Skye Resident at the 2026 Skye Half Marathon with a fantastic time of 1:36:15. 👏

We owe Shannon an apology, as a rogue address in the results data meant we had to go to VAR after race day to confirm the local prize winner in this category. After reviewing the results, the title was very much Shannon's—and we couldn't be more delighted for her.

What's even more impressive is Shannon's progress over the last three years:

🏃‍♀️ 2025: 1:54:27
🏃‍♀️ 2026: 1:36:15

That's her fastest Skye Half Marathon yet and a remarkable improvement. We have a feeling there's much much more to come.
