Parking availability 2022 – Stage One finish at Glenshee
Parking is now available to book through Eventbrite for the Stage One finish of the 2022 Tour of Britain on Sunday 4th of September 2022 at Glenshee Ski Centre.
This includes parking for those interested in overnight facilities on Saturday 3rd of September, or for anyone considering taking a larger vehicle such as a 16 seat mini bus, large vans, large camper vans or coaches.
The A93 at Braemar and the Spittal of Glenshee will be manned throughout the day by event stewards, who will close the road at 11am prompt to allow the final preparations for the event finish area to be completed safely. Carpark ticket holders will still be able to gain access to the Ski Centre until 1pm, allowing the opportunity and plenty of time for anyone who wants to watch the start of the Stage in Aberdeen to travel to the finish line at Glenshee ahead of the Teams.
For those coming from further afield and thinking of parking overnight carparking passes are also available. The ToB event team will arrive on Saturday 3rd of September and the café and toilets will remain open at the ski centre until 8pm to cater for them and for anyone else who might be parking overnight. The Café will be open for the sale of hot food and refreshment including alcohol. The Café will reopen on Sunday morning to cater for breakfast and will then be open throughout the day for sale of refreshments and food. Weather permitting the Cairnwell Chairlift will also be running.
The ToB event village will include event sponsors and merchandisers and also a large screen display, so those waiting at the finish will be able to follow the whole race Live during the course of the day.
The organisers have arranged parking for those wishing to cycle the last leg of the route from Braemar, this will be in the field normally used as the Braemar Gathering carpark and situated on the A93 just as it approaches the Braemar from Aberdeen. Cyclists will then be able to make use of the closed road section of the A93 until 1 hour before the race is due to pass (it takes an average of 40 – 50 minutes to cycle the 8 miles from Braemar to Glenshee depending on ability).
