Excitement is building across Weymouth and Portland as some of the world’s best windsurfers have arrived on the Dorset coast for the Musto IQFoil World Championships 2026

Teams from across the globe are preparing to battle it out on the waters of Weymouth and Portland, with racing getting underway from Sunday, September 6 at The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

For local residents, it’s a chance to see an Olympic sailing discipline quite unlike anything else — where athletes appear to fly above the water at incredible speeds while making split-second decisions that can mean the difference between winning and losing.

Before racing begins, Weymouth will officially welcome the international athletes with an Opening Ceremony and Flag Parade tomorrow, Saturday, September 5. Why not go along and support this spectacular display of athletes from around the world!

😂⛵ THE iQFOiL SQUAD HAVE BEEN PUT ON THE SPOT… AND THEIR ANSWERS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! 🇬🇧

Some of the British Sailing Team’s iQFOiL squad faced a few questions ahead of the Musto iQFOiL World Championships 2026 — and it’s definitely worth a watch! 😂🌊

The championships take place in Weymouth and Portland from 7–12 September, bringing some of the world’s best windsurfers to Dorset.

🏆 And on Saturday 12 September, you can get even closer to the action at the Fan Zone at Weymouth Pavilion!

Rafferty Read’s top-20 finish at the Formula WingFoil Racing World Championships in Istanbul came with an unexpected lesson: taking the pressure off can help bring out your best.

Arriving the night before racing after three consecutive events, Rafferty had little of his usual preparation. But with an old 5.5m wing and a determination to enjoy himself, he secured top-ten finishes in the gold fleet and showed the speed to challenge the leading racers.

The Official Test Centre (OTC) Pro Rider Scotty Stallman Windsurfing has returned from one of the toughest Slalom X events imaginable with a top-16 finish, renewed confidence and his sights firmly fixed on the biggest prize in professional windsurfing – a World Title.

At 25, Scotty is continuing to establish himself among the world’s leading racers, competing sail-to-sail with the very best while constantly learning, developing his equipment and pushing his own limits.

His latest challenge took him to Fuerteventura, where winds of more than 45 knots, breaking waves and huge swell created some of the most brutal racing conditions the PWA World Tour Windsurfing fleet has faced.

And while the event did not start exactly as Scotty had hoped, what followed gave him plenty of reasons to believe there is much more to come.
