PORTLAND PANTHERS 🐆

Final game of the season.

Dorchester Stars 🌟 vs Panthers 🐆

One final push to finish what has been a fantastic season.

Kick off ⚽️

Both teams started brightly, moving the ball well and working hard out of possession, but no goals separated the sides early on. Panthers, playing against the wind in the first half, managed the game extremely well.

Half time: 0-0

Second half, with the wind now behind us, the message was clear — get the ball forward with quality and we will win this game.

With the game finely balanced, Panthers struck first from a cross… or was it a shot? We may never know, but we’ll take it! 😅

We kept probing for opportunities and then BOOM 💥 another goal for Panthers.

2-0 🐆

A long throw from Stars caused all sorts of problems — unusual for us — and they pulled one back.

2-1. Game on.

But our striker, who has scored in all but TWO games this season, stepped up once again with another huge goal to restore the lead.

3-1 🐆

Then brilliant defending from our stand-in left back, hooking the ball forward. Our winger chased what looked like a lost cause, but the keeper misjudged the bounce and he tapped into an empty net.

🐾 PANTHERS GAME DAY TOMORROW 🐾

The Panthers make their final trip of the season to local rivals Dorchester Stars 🌟

What a season it’s been for our young Panthers — achieving our highest ever league position in Division 2! 👏

Unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough for promotion in such a tight league, but to secure our place in the division and reach the cup semi-final, only narrowly missing out on penalties, is an unbelievable achievement 💙

If you’re free tomorrow, come down and support the boys!

📣 RAFFLE PRIZES NEEDED & SAVE THE DATE! 📣

We are so excited for our upcoming Football Fundraiser on Friday, 5th June! This is going to be a fantastic night of Cash Bingo and community fun at the Portland Blues Club.

⚽️ Help Us Out: We are currently looking for prize donations for our raffle. This is a brilliant opportunity for local businesses to gain some exposure while supporting our U12s. Rossmore Rockets 🚀 vs Portland Panthers 🐆

Panthers faced league leaders Rossmore Rockets today with a depleted squad — only 10 players available — making an already tough task even harder.

Kick-offThe home side settled quickly and looked to play at every opportunity. A sharp early attack led to the opening goal, putting Rossmore 1–0 ahead.

Panthers stayed lively, with the forwards working hard off limited chances. Their efforts paid off from a corner — the cross evaded everyone but Sonni, who controlled it well and calmly beat the keeper to level the score.

Half-time: 1–1

Second halfPanthers reshuffled, with players out of position and some tired legs beginning to show. A long ball over the top caught the makeshift defence off guard, giving Rossmore a clear run at goal to make it 2–1.

Still pushing for an equaliser, Panthers were undone again by some sloppy defending. A pass across the box was intercepted, and Rossmore extended their lead to 3–1.

Full-time: 3–1

The league leaders deserved the win, but Panthers’ mistakes made the result look more convincing than the game felt.
