🧡🖤🔱 TRIDENTS TUESDAY 🔱🖤🧡

What an incredible weekend.

Firstly, a huge congratulations to everyone who took on the Porthcawl Trident Triathlon. From first triathletes to seasoned competitors battling it out on our roads, and in our waters. It was brilliant to see so many athletes giving everything out on the course and battle it out for super series points.

But this weekend was about so much more than swim, bike and run.

It was about the people behind the scenes.

To every single volunteer who gave up their time, got up before sunrise, marshalled the course, supported athletes, set up, packed away and kept smiling throughout the day… thank you. This event simply doesn't happen without you.

To our club members, thank you for racing, volunteering, supporting and representing Porthcawl Triathlon Club in the way that you always do.

To our town, local businesses and wider community, thank you for embracing the event and helping us showcase everything that is great about Porthcawl.

A race like this is never delivered by one person. It takes a huge team effort and it's something we should all be incredibly proud of.

Months of planning. One morning of racing. Countless memories. 🔱

🔥 BIKE COURSE READY TO GO 🔥

The bike course is set up, signed, measured and looking absolutely 🔥🔥🔥 for race day.

Athletes can expect a fast and flowing course featuring quiet country roads, rolling terrain and some stunning views.

We have gone all out on the course signage this year. You'll find kilometre markers every 5km and directional arrows every 5km, meaning you'll see a course sign every 2.5km throughout the ride.

Combined with our marshals at key location and race day officials, the route is clearly marked and easy to follow from start to finish.

Our team have spent the last few days checking every junction and installing signage to ensure the best possible athlete experience.

The weather is looking good, the course is looking fast and we can't wait to welcome you all to Porthcawl.

🔱PORTHCAWL TRIDENT TRIATHLON 2026 🔱

The countdown is almost over.🧡🖤

This Sunday, 336 athletes will take to the start line at the Porthcawl Trident Triathlon, including 46 first time triathletes taking on their very first Swim Bike Run challenge.

As part of the Welsh Triathlon Super Series, athletes will tackle a 1500m sea swim, 42km bike ride and a 10km coastal run before finishing on Porthcawl's iconic seafront.

Behind the scenes, an incredible team of 50+ volunteers, technical officials, medical staff, water safety teams and event partners have been working hard to make the event possible.

Whether you're racing, volunteering, supporting a friend or simply looking for something to do on Sunday morning, we would love to see you there.

Come down to the Cosy Corner and cheer on athletes of all ages and abilities as they take on one of Wales' most scenic triathlons.

Good luck to everyone racing and thank you to everyone helping make the event happen.

MEDAL MONDAY

What a weekend for the club, some seriously impressive performances to shout about!

First up, Karl Reese absolutely crushed Ironman 70.3 Bolton as an Ironman AWA, crossing the line in an incredible 5:22:30. Phenomenal racing, Karl!

Becky Pierce showed pure grit at the Cotswolds 113 Middle Distance Aquabike battling through a knee injury for the last 16 miles to get that finish. Massive respect!

Jemma Webb took on the Swansea Half Marathon and got it done with a huge effort!

Jayne Hopkins was in action at the stunning Blenheim Castle Triathlon finishing strong despite a leg injury tearing its ugly head on the run section!

And a special shout out to Owain Jones representing Porthcawl Runners at the iconic Welsh Castle’s Relay absolutely crushing Stage 18!

Every one of you should be incredibly proud. We see you! 🧡🖤🔱
