Our first team progressed to the next round of the Bob Radcliffe Cup yesterday afternoon with an impressive win over Laurelvale at Pepperton Park.

Despite still having a number of players missing, the Mill started strongly and kept the pressure on their opponents throughout, with direct play from Ethan Mcatarsney and James Robinson causing problems for the visitors defence.

A solid display from the Bourneview defence kept things tight at the back, while Eamon Kelly put in a fine shift, marshalling the midfield and helping control the game.

And right at the death, William McKinstry produced an excellent penalty save to preserve the clean sheet!

Our reserves kicked off their season this afternoon with a tricky away fixture at Lurgan Celtic.

Despite a heavily disrupted pre season and a number of players unabailable, the Mill men put in a strong, battling performance against a good Celtic side.

A very solid display from our keeper and back 4 gave us a platform to build on, but despite creating a number of good opportunities we couldn't take advantage and find the back of the net. A good point on the road and something to build on for next week.

Our first team enter the Bob Radcliffe Cup this weekend with a first round home tie against Laurelvale Football Club. 2pm KO @ Pepperton Park.

Our Reserves get their season underway as they travel to Lord Lurgan Memorial Park to face Lurgan Celtic Fc in Reserve Division 1. 2:15pm KO.
