Happy Mother’s Day 💐

Behind this photo was approximately 27 attempts, someone pulling a face, someone disappearing out of frame, and a lot of “just stand still for one second!” 🙈 But we got there in the end.

Being a mum is the most rewarding, exhausting, chaotic and wonderful role all rolled into one. These four keep me busy, keep me grounded, and remind me every day why taking time for ourselves matters too.

Pilates is my little pocket of time to breathe, move, reset and come back stronger — and I know so many of the amazing mums in my classes feel the same.

So today, here’s to all the mums, stepmums, grandmas, mums-to-be and the women who support others like mums. I hope you get at least five minutes of peace… and maybe even a cup of tea while it’s still hot ☕💛

Happy Mother’s Day!

I’m so lucky to have such lovely clients 💛

One of my regular clients sent me this message after Pilates this week and it made my day — especially the part about sleeping like a baby after class 😴

That’s what Pilates should do — help you feel stronger, looser and more relaxed afterwards.

If you’ve been thinking about getting back into exercise, Pilates is a great place to start — gentle, effective and adaptable for all abilities. It’s also amazing to assist in post natal recovery and surgical/injury rehabilitation.

Do you sleep better after exercise?

I have a few spaces available if you’d like to join us — just message me for details.

This week in Pilates we’re getting creative with movement and engagement using resistance bands — with a special focus on isometric exercises and why they’re so powerful for core recovery.

Isometric work simply means activating muscles without movement — holding gentle tension while staying still. It might look simple, but this type of training is incredibly effective, especially for rebuilding strength safely.

For many of my clients — including prenatal and postnatal mums, and those managing back or hip discomfort — strong foundations matter more than big movements. Isometric exercises help us reconnect with the deep core and glutes in a controlled, supported way, without placing unnecessary strain on the body.

✨ Benefits of isometric Pilates work include:• Helps retrain the deep core muscles after pregnancy• Builds strength without excessive pressure on the pelvic floor• Supports the lower back and improves stability• Encourages better muscle awareness and control• Gentle but effective glute strengthening• Ideal if you’re recovering from injury or returning to exercise

Using resistance bands adds just enough challenge to wake up the stabilising muscles and improve coordination — often muscles we don’t feel working in bigger movements.

Sometimes the smallest movements create the biggest changes. Holding, breathing, and connecting can be exactly what the body needs to rebuild strength and confidence.

If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to safely strengthen your core — especially after pregnancy or with back or hip issues — this week’s classes are a great place to start 💛

Lent is often about sacrifice…
But it can also be about growth 🌿

For the next 6 weeks leading up to Easter, why not commit to something positive?

Our new Pilates block starts this week and we have the following classes to choose from:
🧘‍♀️ 2 Mat Pilates classes (mixed ability, suitable for pre and post natal)
🔥 1 Cardio Pilates class

Let’s build strength, confidence and consistency together.

Spaces are limited – send me a message to join us 💛

This 👌❤️

I’m not a big fan of the whole “love your body” thing.

Not because it’s wrong - if it works for you, amazing, honestly 💪🏻 But for me… it just feels like another expectation. Another thing women are supposed to do perfectly.

I don’t “love” my stomach any more than I “love” my right elbow… but for years I dedicated an insane amount of mental energy to my stomach. And that’s the difference.

Society is obsessed with women’s stomachs, bums, thighs, boobs… but no one gives a damn about our elbows. So we don’t either.

But imagine if tomorrow the trend became “wrinkle-free elbows with a dash of glitter.” You just know we’d all suddenly be spiralling in the mirror like: why are my elbows ageing faster than me?? 😭

And it made me think… if nobody fixated on women’s bodies at all, would we still feel this pressure to “love” every inch of ourselves?

I understand why people try to bond with the parts they struggle with - parts that don’t match beauty standards, parts that changed, parts that carry stories (hello C-section shelf). I really do. I tried for years too.

But eventually I realised something:

What my body looks like is not who I am.
It’s not what I’ll be remembered for.
And honestly… it’s the least interesting thing about me. (And I promise you - the least interesting thing about you too.)

What my body does for me though? That’s a different story.

This body carried pregnancies. It moves me through the world. It lets me laugh, dance, hug, breathe, taste, touch, feel pleasure, feel joy. It’s a bloody miracle.

So now I focus less on trying to “love” my stomach… and more on being grateful I even have one.

And maybe that’s the point:

If “love your body” isn’t working for you… maybe you don’t have to. Maybe it’s enough to simply respect it. Appreciate it. Live in it.

It’s just a body.
And you’re so much more than that 🩷

🔥 What a way to kick off Week 2!
A huge well done to everyone who smashed the cardio session and those who joined us for a great first Week 2 mat Pilates class last night. The energy, focus, and effort were 👌

🧠 This week’s mat Pilates focus: shoulders.
While we’ll continue building with gentle core work and hip strengthening, this week is really about shoulder mobility, strength, and tension release — something so many of us need thanks to desk work, phones, driving, and everyday stress.

To support healthy, resilient shoulders, we’re working them through all planes of movement, including:
• Rotation – for control and joint health
• Protraction & retraction – to support posture and shoulder blade stability
• Elevation & depression – essential for overhead movement and neck tension relief

The goal? Shoulders that move well, feel strong, and don’t hold onto unnecessary tension — all while staying connected to the core and breathing.

✨ If your shoulders often feel tight, achy, or fatigued, this week is for you.

A few Thursday night spaces up for grabs this week. See you on the mat 💙

✨ Props in Pilates aren’t about making things easier or harder —
they’re about making things clearer.❤️

Blocks can help refine pelvic position and posture.
Small balls encourage connection to inner thighs and pelvic floor.
Rolly objects offer instant feedback for deep core engagement during supine work.

It’s not just movement.
It’s alignment, awareness, and control. 🧘🏼‍♀️❤️
