Reminder - Training Resumes 🥋👏
Now that the summer holidays are over, we fully return to training tonight in Margam. Combined Session - 7:15pm to 8:15/8:30pm.

Plenty of things to work towards for all students during the remainder of the year - Grading, Seminars, Competitions, European Championships, 5K Karate Contest. Let’s get back to business and fill the dojo - no excuses and hard training will get the results 🥋👊

Kumite Training tomorrow in Cwmafan:
Juniors (5-11 Years) - 6-7pm
Seniors (& Elite Squad Juniors) - 7:15-8:15pm

We keep building and strive as a club 👏 If you know of any new starters wanting to to try things out, please encourage them to come along.

Monday 24th - Combined Session
7pm to 8pm
(Any Brown/Black Belts want to come down earlier to work their Grading Syllabus, I will be in the dojo earlier).

Wednesday 26th - Combined Session
7:15pm to 8:15/8:30pm

Thursday 27th - Combined Kumite Session
7:15pm to 8:15pm
(Elite Squad can come down earlier to start working on things for the Europeans)

Monday 31st - Bank Holiday
No Training

Over the next week or so we will look at starting our running sessions back up for the RB10K training. Great way for parents to get involved 👍

Seniors - 11 Years Plus White Belt to Black Belt, including Junior Brown Belts

Margam - Wednesday 19th August
Combined Session - Juniors and Seniors together, all grades.

Cwmafan - Thursday 20th August
Kumite Sessions (Fighting)
Juniors - 5 Years to 11 Years
Seniors - 12 Years+

Ruby Davies & Samuel Waters 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🥋
An incredibly proud day for both Ruby and Sam. Both represented Karate Wales and the Welsh Bushi-Kai with tremendous pride, passion and determination on the world stage.

Sam fought his heart out, narrowly missing out in the early rounds in a first-to-score situation. I couldn’t be prouder of how he stepped up against some of the best competitors in the world. Considering how short his journey on the tatami has been, he looked up there with the best of the karate-ka, and this is only the beginning. The future is incredibly bright. 💪

After yesterday’s disappointment, Ruby came back with real determination. She was on fire from the very first fight, using explosive hand speed, excellent movement and intelligent tactics to create opportunities throughout the earlier rounds. At this level the margins are so small, and she missed out on the final by just one point.
Ruby is now a WUKF World Championship Bronze Medallist! 🥉
An outstanding achievement and one that everyone should be incredibly proud of!

A huge thank you to everyone at Karate Wales for welcoming us, believing in us and giving us the opportunity to represent our country. We are truly grateful. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Preparation begins tomorrow as we get ready to compete on Thursday and Friday.

☀️🥋 Summer Break 🥋☀️
Margam & Cwmafan Bushi-Kai Karate Club will be on a summer break for the next couple of weeks due to the WUKF World Championships and then venue closures.
There will be no training from Monday 20th July to Sunday 16th August.
Training will resume:
Cwmafan Dojo - Monday 17th August
Margam Dojo - Wednesday 19th August

As discussed in training - keep training hard and enjoy your holidays. Kyu Gradings will take place for those eligible once we return or during a scheduled slot within the weeks off.
