YMCA Port Talbot operates as an inclusive community organisation, providing space and support for people of all backgrounds. We host a range of groups and events throughout the year, and while some bookings may involve sensitive or differing viewpoints, our role in these instances is strictly that of a neutral venue hire.

Our historic grade 2 listed art decor building, was once the heart of Port Talbot’s social scene. The Plaza started life as a cinema in 1940 but sadly fell into disrepair after its closure in 1999. We, the YMCA Port Talbot, are proud to announced that we are bringing it back to life! Our mantra is Wellbeing, Culture, Business and Community. With these in mind, we bring to you our new Community Hub at The Plaza YMCA. Offering a business hub with our Hot Desk and Conference Room Hire options. We also have retail and office space being utilised by People Plus, Barclays Bank, College Street Insurance, Sarandhels and Bloom Aesthetics. Sir Anthony Hopkins, our patron est 1987, is well known for all his work and achievements in the Arts. Starting his acting journey at our very own YMCA Port Talbot, at the age of 18. In celebration of this, we have named our new hall the Anthony Hopkins Theatre Hall. The Hall can cater many different events from Corporate Presentations to children’s parties. Equipped with a 252-person racked seating that can be retracted. You can choose to configure your own table/chairs layout. There is also a High Spec PA lighting/ Sound and Projection Screen system. Our beautiful classically modern Dance Studio, designed with one full mirrored wall and polished wooden sprung floor. Holding up to 30 people, speaker system installed ready for your music, situated on our ground floor it is easily accessible. Uninterrupted, it’s perfect for mindfulness sessions such as yoga. Plaza Cafe - A Cafe serving delicious, hot and cold food and drink in a warm and welcoming environment. Also available for any event catering requirements.
