Did I count the calories? Sometimes you don't have to. Boring yourself sick with plain chicken and rice might seem the way to go at first glance, but if you're not enjoying what you eat, if you can't sustain the lifestyle those results will be short lived. You don't have to be 100 miles per hour 100% of the way.

Before I learned about nutrition and calories, I was very under weight. I thought being active I should be gaining muscle and couldn't understand why despite eating what I felt was enough to invoke obesity I was still thin and barely looked like I could brave a light breeze.

Understanding your bodies capacity to digest different foods can make a world of difference for your appetite for both gaining and losing weight. Feeling satiated is half the battle, if you're too full to meet your calories you won't grow, if you're not full enough to stop yourself over consuming your calories, you won't lose weight. It's NOT always about will power, sometimes your stomach really is full and sometimes your stomach really is empty.
