ORCA canoe building workshops We run Canadian canoe building and paddle making workshops in the Lake District. Upon completion, the canoe is yours to keep.

We run canadian canoe building and paddle making workshops in the Lake District. The courses are designed for individuals or small groups, and are set over 4 days. You don't need a high level of woodworking skill, as the stages are really simple to follow. Classes are small and informal, and you are welcome to bring friends and family along to help out.

Made some good use of our canoes during the sunny weather we had here in the lakes, we often get asked how much load our canoes can take and here is the answer!! Not only is the Lakelsnder super light making easy to get on off cars, it's super stable, great to paddle, good load carry capacity, looks good and you will have made it yourself!! Many folk who have built one use it for multi day trips, we love hearing about what you have been up to in your Lakelsnder so feel free to share!

A belated happy New year to everyone.. here is a nice pic I found of some folk paddling their brand new Lakelander down the river from our workshop, under Pooley Bridge to their car that is right next to the river! All very handy. We are looking forward to the warmer months and more canoes to be built.
