One of the biggest worries we here from young people looking at booking on to a open expedition is
"Will i be with the same people for my practice and qualifying?"
The truth is, that doesn't matter.
Just to unpack it a little more. If you book a package of Practice and Qualifying Expeditions with us, then 9 times out of 10, yes, you will be with the same people.
We quite often hear this from young people who maybe cant make both the dates of a package. Or its a worry from someone who can only make one of their schools expeditions and need to go elsewhere for the other.
The truth is. This isn't an issue. As much as an Expedition is a team event, your DofE Award is a very much personal Achievement. The goal of DofE training is to make sure each and every participant personally learns all the skills needed for an expedition, so you should never have to worry about going from a group with a strong lead navigator, to a group where no one can navigate, because that simply dose not happen!
If you read our post the other day, you already know we make sure you have the opportunity to chat to the others in your group before an expedition so when you arrive at your start point, you already know the people you are meeting. So that's another worry gone.
The other thing to remember is, you've already been brave enough to take the leap and join one open expedition, joining a second group will only be easier!
So to round up, should you worry about being in the same group for your practice and qualifying? No.
