Many congratulations to O60 tennis group player Graham Farrant who has recently represented the country in the O65 hockey national “B” team World Cup in Breda in the Netherlands. 7 matches played on the way to winning the final against Australia B in the final on penalties after a 1–1 draw. Graham’s highlight scoring a hat trick in the 4-2 win over Germany in the quarter final. So Graham’s team are current European and World “B” team champions having won the European Champs in Germany last summer.

Great finish today to the O60 men’s Dorset Summer League.
We were at home in the last match of the season to Southbourne with the winners winning the league. Our team of Andy Sommerville, Neil Abercrombie, Paul Nation and Keith Grant won a great battle 3-1 meaning East Dorset top the league unbeaten in 8 matches, 31 rubbers to 1
We are the only club with 2 teams in the league, our 2nd team had 2 wins captained by Andrew Hawker.

There are now just a few days to go with the current Season 14 of the Tennis Box Leagues and entries are still open for NEW entries for the new Season 15, which, is sponsored and will offer trophies for all of the winners.
Our thanks go again to Ward Goodman, our headline sponsor, who in addition to providing the trophies, will also sponsor an Awards presentation evening in September 2026, where there will be free refreshments for all Box league entrants, as well as the trophies being awarded.
As a reminder, it is totally free to enter and you can enter as many or few leagues as you wish, but you must be a paid up member of the club.
However, you need to sign up by 31st August 2026.
There are Leagues for Mixed Singles (men and ladies), Mens Doubles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
If you don't have a partner, not a problem, just fill in the entry form and state "Request" in the appropriate boxes.
The playing format is first to 9 games, Tie Break at 8 all, and sudden death deuce in all games. So matches can be played in an hour or just over.
The next Season will start on Thursday 10th September and will run until Thursday 31st December 2026.

Another great turnout for our O60 session on Tuesday afternoon. All 6 grass courts in use for 5 doubles and one singles . Thanks to Kirin for keeping the courts in great shape all summer in spite of the weather!

Another excellent win for our O60 Mixed team at West Hants yesterday. A winning draw has secured the title with all 4 matches won. Congratulations to captain Keith Grant, Andy, Elaine and Kaye and the other squad members. And our O60 mens first team have won all 7 matches so far with one left v Southbourne to secure the title

Well done to the ladies who took part in our Social Doubles Tournament on the grass on Thursday morning, it was lovely to have some shade on the end court and the groundsmen had already been out with the sprinkler! Nothing better than a bit of grass court tennis during Wimbledon fortnight 🎾🌱😎
