Run for a place to call home

Every marathon begins with a first step.

For somebody who has experienced homelessness, the journey towards a safer and more independent future is also made one step at a time.

By running the 2027 TCS London Marathon for YMCA Bournemouth, your determination and fundraising will help us continue supporting people who have experienced homelessness and are now part of the YMCA family.

As Gareth Sherwood, CEO of YMCA Bournemouth, says: “Every stride taken in this marathon is a step towards giving hope and a home to those in need.”

Could 2027 be the year you run the London Marathon?

Applications are now open to join Team YMCA for the 2027 TCS London Marathon, taking place on 24 April 2027.

Taking on 26.2 miles would be an incredible personal achievement, but running for YMCA Bournemouth means your marathon could achieve something even greater.

Every pound raised for YMCA Bournemouth will help us support people who have experienced homelessness as they work towards a safer, more secure and independent future.

- Application deadline: Tuesday 25 August 2026
- Registration fee: £100
- Minimum sponsorship target: £1,900

When applying, please select or name YMCA Bournemouth as the YMCA you would like to support.

YMCA Bournemouth are supporting the BBC Radio Solent Soapbox Appeal this January by helping collect donated toiletries and cleaning products so local community schemes can share them with anyone who needs a little extra support.

Thousands of people across the South are feeling the impact of the rising cost of living. For many, everyday essentials like soap, toothpaste, and personal care products are now unaffordable.

You can be part of the BBC Radio Solent Soapbox Appeal by donating unopened items at one of YMCA Bournemouth’s drop-off points:
• The Junction Sports & Leisure Centre, Station Approach, BH18 8AX
• Bayside Fitness Club, 54 Willis Way, BH15 3SY
• YMCA Bournemouth, 56 Westover Road, BH1 2BS
• Stourvale Centre, 108 Stourvale Road, BH6 5JB

New and unopened toiletries including:
• Body lotion / Body spray / Body wash / Body wipes
• Bubble bath
• Cleanser & creams
• Deodorant
• Face wash
• Gift sets
• Grooming products
