Bank holiday weekend and we had two boxers competing on two different shows, Joe Lewis travelled to Bridgwater, Somerset to box on the Sydenham show. Up against an aggressive pressure fighter Joe kept his cool, boxing on the back foot to counter his opponent with some clear scoring shots and pick up a split decision win, well done Joe !
Louie Puddepha spent a long hot day at the Leigh park show in Portsmouth, he put in a good performance winning the third round against the more experienced moneyfields boy but lost on a close but correct unanimous decision, not the result he would of liked but experience gained in dealing with the demands of competitive boxing. Well done Louie we’ll have you back in the ring again soon.

Daisy took part in her 1st skills bout yesterday against a tall well schooled opponent. Daisy took some hard accurate jabs but showed great heart and desire to press forward when possible. Plenty to build on and she should be proud of herself as she hasn't been in the gym for very long and it was a big step. Well done Daisy.
Joe fooks had his first bout as well on the Lympstone show in Exmouth . Joe boxed very well, taking the 1st round and 1 minute 40 seconds of the second......then he got dropped heavily in the last 15 seconds of the second.....he showed his strength, desire and fitness, rising to beat the count, fortunately the bell rang and he got back to the corner. The 3rd round was fairly even but probably went the other way, Joe staying on his feet, fighting back and winning a split decision.
It was an entertaining bout.
Well done to both boxer's, who represented Poole ABC 👏

Kristian Jackson made his return to the ring with a split decision win over his Frome ABC opponent. A closely contested bout saw our Poole boxer just edge the win using his boxing skills to keep on top as he was put under pressure from his game competitor. Well done Kristian.
Having his 3rd Skills bout Stanly Cribb tested his boxing ability with a competent Gosport boxer. Learning every time with a smile on his face and taking it one step closer to a contested bout, stanley is working hard and growing into this sport. Keep up the good work stanly.

Great night of sparring on Thursday with Blandford ABC bringing 5 of their boxers to Poole Boxing Club. Competitive and skill full rounds are helping these athletes learn their trade but also forging friendships within the boxing community. Good work fellas

Debutant senior boxer Will Pollyn represented Poole ABC at the Frome Home show on Sunday. Up against another first timer from Golden Ring these evenly matched boxers put on a skilful display with the Southampton boxer just edging a deserved unanimous points win. Making a start to his amateur career, we look forward to seeing him back in the gym, putting in the work to progress and bounce back.

It’s been a busy few weeks for the boxers and coaches at Poole ABC

Tyson travelled at short notice to Barnstaple, boxing on their evening show just after the regional championships.
Otis competed in maybe his last skills bout in Street, Somerset on the Pyramid club show.
Finley stepped in at 24hrs notice to help out Sturminster Newton.
Finally This Sunday afternoon Louie and Alex travelled to Trowbridge, Louie making his debut with an impressive first round stoppage.

We as a club are so proud of all these boxers for their dedication and determination.

Well done to our February boxer of the month, Lucas . Lucas has progressed up from the beginners. His attendance is excellent. He works 💯in the gym & is making great progress and hoping to get carded soon and have his first skills. Keep up the good work.

Great sportsmanship and respect shown by all these boxers last night.
Poole ABC hosted a sparring session with the visiting Portland Boxing club in preparation for some upcoming bouts.
I’m Sure the extra rounds have helped !

Putting in the time.
Our young team of boxers travelled to Sturminster on Monday night for some rounds of open sparring.
It takes hours and hours of practice to make the smallest of gains in any sport and these dedicated athletes are certainly doing that.
