There are a couple of reasons why having cloudy/degraded headlamps can be dangerous:
Firstly severely affected headlamps can drastically reduce the output of your headlamp bulbs and affect the beam pattern omitted. So not only can this reduce the coverage of the light on the road and surrounding area in front of your vehicle; it can be a reason for the car to fail an MOT. Secondly reduced headlam
p output will make it harder for other vehicles to see you when driving at night and this can also be the same in foggy & misty conditions. The main cause of this is down to Ultraviolet light that oxidises the outer surface of the acrylic headlamp lenses. Also general weathering and chemicals from road pollution which contaminates the outer surface of the acrylic lights. Rather than replacing the headlights, which can work out to be pretty costly, they can be refurbished at a fraction of the price. This refurbishment process can be done without removing the headlights and takes approx 2 hours. The average costs to refurbish headlights can vary from anything between £60 to £120.
** Punchy’s Lamp Revamp's price is only £60.00 and that's for both headlights. **

( The refurbishment process generally takes around 2 hours from start to finish : Including protection preparation on the car prior to working on the headlights )
Please either message or e-mail me to get in touch to make an appointment.
* Currently due to work commitments I am only able to carry out my refurbishment service at weekends between 10:00-16:00. Selected mid-week evenings may also be available in the Spring/Summer months between 18:00-20:00 *
Note: Although this refurbishment process will dramatically improve the appearance of your headlights it will not bring them up to ‘showroom condition’. Some headlights will have internal impairments as well as external. This process only works on the external impairments. Some headlamps will also have external blemishes within the acrylic, which again may not be rectified with this process. Further more, the refurbishment process includes ‘wet & dry’ sanding which requires the application of water onto the surface of the headlights. Due to the condition of the sealant between the headlight body and the lens itself it could potentially mean that water droplets get inside the light, even during the refurbishment process. This can lead to watermarks forming on the inside of the lamp. This unfortunately is a risk factor and something that we will not be able to resolve.
