Welcome to Space Week!

Mini Athletics combines imaginative themes and physical games to get children running and jumping. Let them throw themselves into an engaging theme each week and watch their confidence grow!

Mini Athletics at King's Park Indoor Bowls Club will be outside this week.

Check your emails for details and look out for the flag - we expect to be on the grass on the skate park side.

Saturday morning sessions for children from 2-7 will run through the summer. Come down and give it a try!

The fundamental physical skills gained in Mini Athletics sessions are transferable to a whole host of other sports and activities. The session plans build on a child's natural love of running, jumping and throwing and aim to give children the confidence and self-esteem to keep active and engaged in sports as they grow up.

This weeks theme is Gogo's House!! Here he is catching up with his neighbours in the lifeguard hut down at Branksome Chine.

We think Gogo really loves his beach house! The children have certainly enjoyed visiting!

The beach sessions are held on the no dogs section of the beach (to the right of the car park if you are looking out to sea) and anyone heading down for our session intending to stay and play after can relax knowing the toilets, kiosk and red and yellow flag zones are all just a few metres away.

Bournemouth's team on Superstar Day was made up of children who attend Mini Athletics after school and breakfast clubs.

Why not try our Saturday morning King's Park session over the summer? Classes are also available for younger siblings.

Mini Athletics spaces available at King's Park Indoor Bowl's club.

Over just a few sessions Mini Athletes (5-7's) get to practice a range of athletics disciplines as part of engaging lesson plans. Sessions focus on fun but also use team games to introduce the excitement of competition.

The younger age groups - Didee (2-3.5) and Little Athletes (3.5-5) - build on a child's natural love of running, jumping and throwing and also use imaginative themes and team games to boost confidence and focus. Perfect preparation for starting school!

What a morning!

Today's Didee athletes certainly made the most of the sunshine, getting up and out early for games and a run around with friends! What a backdrop for a podium wave, cheer and sticker! A fantastic way to start the day!

Pre-school classes will be held at 9:15 at Branksome Chine on Monday and Wednesday mornings until the end of term.

Getting in the zone on Superstar Day

Without doubt one of the coolest things we've done together as a mother and son duo.

As a parent Superstar Day exceeded my expectations. Seeing the joy on his face when Gogo arrived, the excitement of waving the flag we'd made together at home in the opening ceremony and the thrill of competing in athletic events on a real track are all fantastic memories we will treasure. We cannot wait for next year!

Mini Athletics classes are unique, offering the opportunity for children aged 1 to 7 years to practice the key physical skills used in athletics events and many other sports in an engaging and imaginative way.
