Hole in ONE Alert!!

Richard Robertson had a hole in one today on our par 3 15th. Not an easy hole this one but a smooth 5 iron over the tree on the left, on a great line to the cup, and it’s an ace. 💥🏌🏽‍♂️

On Sunday we held our Annual Sponsors Day to thank our valued sponsors for their continued and valued support.

Winning for the second year in succession was the team from Ambassador Fire snd Security Ltd and runners up were the team from Davies Engineering Sevices. Well played all.

The fruits of the greenkeepers’ and volunteer team’s labour were clear to see in the greens and favourable comments were passed by many.

Thank you to our President David Kelland and New Member Ambassador Tim Kelland for arranging the day.

The day ended with a great BBQ from Legg’s Hawthorn.

Thank you on behalf of the club and all members to our Greenkeeping team and also to our volunteering group for all their hard work over this hot and dry period.

Whilst we are looking to upgrade equipment, at present some of the irrigation system needs manpower and manual labour to ensure its effectiveness.

We are really grateful to everybody that has given up their time to support this crucial task.

*Hole in ONE Alert*

One of our members had a hole in one in the weekly competition today.

Mark Greener using his 7 iron holed his ball on the downhill 230 yard par 3 14th.

Landing on the downslope it bounced to the green and gently rolled into the cup.

Mark is a popular member at the club and even more so today with the bottle of whisky on the bar.

Our member Laura Thomas has completed a three day trek to the summit of Mount Mulhacen 3482m, the Spanish Mainland’s highest peak and the 3rd highest peak in Continental Europe.

Laura is fundraising for Velindre Cancer Centre in memory of her dad.

Congratulations to our member Arthur Renton who had a hole in one on the 6th hole today in St Athan Golf Club 💥🏌🏽‍♂️

A large group from our Senior team played as part of St Athan’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

In windy conditions Arthur’s 7 iron propelled the ball with accuracy and after a short roll it dropped straight into the cup.

Well done Arthur!!

We would like to thank St Athan GC for their hospitality and warm welcome, it was a fantastic day and all enjoyed very much.
