What a day. What a team. What a club.

Yesterday’s Dawn to Dusk Challenge was about far more than metres swum – it was about teamwork, resilience, and everyone stepping up for each other from start to finish.

Huge credit to our swimmers:
🏊‍♀️ 39,700m – Team LeachCY (Endurance Relay Award winners)
🏊‍♂️ 21,650m – Team Robinson

Standout moments from the day:
• Kristina showing real determination to bounce back after a tough start
• Liz showing outstanding grit (and keeping everyone fuelled along the way!)
• Owen quietly clocking up the miles with real mental strength and constant support for others
• Lucas swimming with maturity and heart beyond his years as our youngest swimmer
• Keith bringing positivity all day while smashing his 2000m per leg goal
• Angela helping hold the team together in and out of the water.

Massive behind-the-scenes support:
• Chris cycling in with perfect timing, homemade cake and spare goggles
• Kam stepping in wherever needed to keep everything running smoothly.

Every swimmer dug deep, lifted each other, and kept going when it mattered most – that’s what makes this group so special.

As we build towards 100 years of Pontypridd Swimming Club in 2028, days like this show what has carried us through a century – community, resilience, and a shared love of swimming.

It's a busy weekend ahead for Team Ponty! 🏊‍♂️

While some of our swimmers take on the Dawn to Dusk Challenge, others will be racing at the Nofio Sir Gar Short Course Development Meet.

Whether they're swimming for endurance, chasing PBs, gaining race experience, or cheering on their teammates, we're proud of every swimmer representing our club this weekend.

Different events. Different goals. The same Team Ponty spirit. 💪

More miles in the water for Liz as Dawn Till Dusk gets closer

Liz has been working through her regular training sessions, with teammates in the pool supporting, pushing and keeping the momentum going throughout each session 🏊‍♀️🔥

Alongside this, she’s also been getting extra time in at Lido Ponty adding another layer to her preparation for the 12-hour relay challenge this weekend.

It’s all building towards one big challenge — training, teamwork and consistency coming together across Team Ponty.

The countdown is on…

With Dawn Till Dusk fast approaching, Team Robinson have been getting in some extra open water training down in Tenby 🌊🏊‍♂️

Keith, Kristina and Lucas will be representing Team Ponty in the Dawn Till Dusk endurance swim on Saturday 13th June — a 12-hour relay challenge in an unheated outdoor pool.

Every extra session in the water is helping build endurance and preparation for what lies ahead.

Behind every challenge is the preparation…

With Dawn Till Dusk getting closer, Angela has been putting in extra training at Lido Ponty and has also completed a number of cold water swims at Uxbridge Lido 🥶🏊‍♀️

Each session is building endurance, confidence and resilience ahead of the 12-hour relay challenge in an unheated outdoor pool.

Angela will join Liz and Owen as Team Leach take on Dawn Till Dusk — representing Team Ponty throughout the challenge.

From lane ropes to bowling lanes — Team Ponty at Tenpin Nantgarw 🎳

Swimmers, families and coaches came together away from the pool for an evening of bowling, plenty of laughs, and great team spirit.

Strikes, spares, and a few “how did that miss?!” moments made for a brilliant night all round 😄

While swimming remains at the heart of what we do, evenings like this show the value of time together beyond training — building friendships, connection, and a strong club community.
