The much underrated Go Deputy is making an impact worldwide, the Lammerskraal bred Flying Ice was shrewdly bought by Neil Bruss for just ZAR125,000 and proved herself an outstanding filly. She was sold to the USA at the end of her career and is now on her way to Australia.

New foal for Deputy Ryder

Early this morning Deputy Ryder gave birth to her second foal, a c**t by Visionaire. Here are the first photographs, he looks a stunner.

No horses in training for the moment hence the lack of posts. It took something for us to make a return and here it is:

Hayley Moore is the sister of jockey Ryan Moore and has ridden successfully herself. These days Hayley is carving out career as a broadcaster for AtTheRaces.

Today Hayley was the on-track reporter at Chepstow, an easy enough job most days but Hayley is no shrinking violet as we see here:

Our two time winning filly Barega produced her first foal this week, a stunning c**t by Visionaire.

First foal for Deputy:

Deputy Ryder has produced a stunning first foal by Champion first season sire What A Winter. It's very early days but he certainly looks the part.

A fantastic effort from Icy Spirit today, Callan Murray was able to get her away well and was able to take up a good position. She battled on strongly up the straight but was just run out of it close home. This was much more like the Icy Spirit we know and we are delighted she was able to produce this kind of effort.

Thanks to all involved at Alyson Wright's stable, they always sent our filly to the track in excellent order and she was a candidate for the best turned out every time she ran.

A bright future at stud beckons and she will visit Noble Tune in due course.

A final fling:

After her encouraging performance last time we are hoping to see Icy Spirit go out with a bang at Greyville on Sunday. She is off to the paddocks after this so it would be a fitting end to an excellent racing career.

The race is off at 13:15 local time (12:15BST). She is drawn widest of all over the 1400 metres but hopefully she can jump well and find a position. It might be optimistic to hope she can win the race but she owes us nothing and we would be happy to see her in the first three.

Better from Icy Spirit

A better run from Icy Spirit today, she was never able to get in a blow at the leaders but kept on well to finish seventh.

A last hurrah

Icy Spirit is running at Greyville on Saturday. It will probably be her last race before she retires to stud. She is in race four, off at 13:15 local time (12:15 BST). She is still high in the handicap but is well drawn and we are optimistic of a good run.

Icy disappoints:

Another below par effort from Icy Spirit today, she was prominent until the last 400 but faded badly to eventually finish last. We will see how she comes out of the race and plan from there.
