🥋 FREE KATA & KUMITE COURSE – WALES 🥋

The Welsh Region is pleased to invite KUGB members to join us for a fantastic kata and kumite training opportunity:

🔴 Sensei Vicky Phillips – 6th Dan
🔴 Sensei Dean Acreman – 5th Dan

📅 Saturday 19 September 2026
⏰ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
📍 The Engine House, High Street, Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil CF48 3HA

Training schedule:
➡️ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm: Kata
➡️ 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Kumite

The course is free and open to all KUGB members graded 7th Kyu 🟡 and above. Members from KUGB regions outside Wales are also very welcome to attend.

Fantastic morning and early afternoon at our Penllwyn Community dojo today.

First our senior grades were treated to an excellent course by Sensei Billy Higgins (8th Dan), this was followed by a kyu grading course, before Sensei oversaw our 2nd kyu grading of the year.

The attitude and performances of not only our students, but also the visiting students from Newport Shotokan Karate Club and Bargoed & Ystrad Mynach was excellent, resulting in full passes across the board and two very well deserved double grades from Phil and Alfie of Okami Shotokan Karate

The most important thing to development is consistency, so we are looking forward to seeing everyone in the dojo on Tuesday

Well done to everyone who was able to attend the KUGB free black and brown belt course and grading in Bath today with Sensei's Frank Brennan and Garry Harford (8th Dan), two excellent courses.
