FRFC u7s final away game of the league season proved to be a thrilling and hard-fought contest against Colton Juniors, with both sides going end-to-end in an exciting battle. The game remained evenly poised for long periods, with momentum swinging back and forth, but Fev eventually raised their level to secure a deserved result.
Captain Ed started the match in goal and led by example, pulling off several important saves to keep Fev in the game during key moments. In the second half, he moved into defence, where his leadership continued to shine through with a number of crucial interceptions.
Jaxon was a rock at the back for most of the match, making decisive tackles and consistently breaking up opposition attacks to relieve pressure on the team.
Austin began on the wing and put in a tireless performance, getting up and down the pitch and fully committing in every challenge. He took over goalkeeping duties in the second half and made multiple impressive saves to deny the opposition.
Tito put in a battling performance out wide, combining strong defensive work with attacking impact. His efforts were rewarded with two excellent goals — one a well-struck finish, and the other a clever flick from a corner that left the keeper with no chance.
Alex was energetic throughout, driving forward on counter-attacks, creating opportunities, and getting Fev off to the perfect start by scoring the opening goal.
Isaac showed great versatility, starting in defence for the first time and adapting well to the role. His performance highlighted his willingness to learn and contribute wherever needed.
Stan delivered a standout display, covering every blade of grass with quality passing and dangerous shooting. He scored four superb goals, with the highlight being a brilliant solo run from deep, beating three defenders before calmly finishing past the keeper.
Oliver worked hard up front, making intelligent runs and creating chances. He was rewarded with two goals, including a fantastic strike from outside the box that flew into the roof of the net.
The coaches were very pleased with the overall performance, especially with the team’s ability to step up and secure the result as the game progressed — a positive sign with the final fast approaching.
