🏏 Match Day 🏏

We’re back again on game day and all three Saturday teams sponsored by Stamfords are in action with 1sts back on the road getting underway at midday against North Cave 🏏

At Burnby Lane today another double header with the 2nds hosting Wheldrake and the 3rds hosting Thorpe Willoughby in 1pm starts, thanks as always to The Wolds Café & Coffee House for providing teas 🥪🏏

The bar will be open from 2pm as per usual, all welcome to come along for a cheap drink and to support the team 🏏🏏

Better late than never! Lots of good performances once again last weekend including a standout performance from Dave Fairhurst (5-18) who claimed a brilliant fifer in the Sunday XI win and was well backed up by Jonny Hollingsworth (3-11) 👏

The 2nds reached the semi-final of the Dave Conner Trophy after beating Goole II in which Alex Ashby (57*) hit an important unbeaten half century. The 3rds lost their cup game against Heslington but the game saw a return to PCC action for the first time since 2021 for Ben Rees (82*) who hit a blistering unbeaten knock in only 44 balls 👏

Player of the Week though came from Saturdays 2nd XI game where skipper Ian Scott (107*) who is kindly sponsored by Lindum Group hit a superb unbeaten century 👏🏏

Let’s hope for more big performances tomorrow 💪🏏

🏏Foss Results 🏏

Two on the bounce for our Division 2 side as they won at Rufforth last night, Joel Taylor led with bat and ball as he hit 88 batting first before following up with 3-19.

The Division 3 Colts side beat the weather at Burnby Lane but not Copmanthorpe who ran out winners by 14 runs. Lewis Chaplin continued his good season with the bat with an unbeaten 42 🏏

Our very own Geoff Woodward will be swapping the cricket ball for a bicycle this weekend as he heads to Sweden to ride in The Vatternrundan a 315km bike ride, raising money for Alzheimer's Society! Everyone at Pock CC wishes you the best of luck! If you can donate just a £1 it all goes to such a brilliant cause!

🏏Weekend Results 🏏

Two wins, three defeats but once again lots of positive performances from our weekend results.

Great to see another win for our Sunday XI as well as the 2nds who made up for defeat on Saturday at Goole by winning their quarter final match yesterday at Burnby Lane.

The 3rds lost a close cup match in their only outing this weekend whilst the 1sts fell to defeat at home to Goole and will be looking to bounce back this weekend!

Lots more cricket to come this week starting with nets tomorrow night from 6pm, all welcome as per usual 🏏
