Next up on our Volunteer Week series is the one and only, Heather.
Heather started following Argyle Women in January 2025. After she met staff of Argyle Women at a Tavi game.
Already working within football and playing, Heather and her daughter, Scarlett, to their very first game. They soon got hooked in, attending every home game, pre season, Devon cup, league games; and even attending a few away games.
During pre season we set up the Argyle Women Supporters Club. We jumped on it before Heather did (sorry Heather) and we soon got in contact with another setting up a group chat for plans and ideas on how to make match days and general plans for the upcoming 25-26 season.
Alongside working in Tavi, taking Scarlett to school and goalkeeper training, Heather was also involved in pageants (check out her page to follow her journey to Florida) and having monthly meetings with to ensure we make changes and seethe changes happen for the women’s team and fans.
Throughout the season, Heather also helped us to secure bus travel for two away games this season. A trip to the FAWNL Cup Final back in March, which saw a full bus load of Argyle fans head up to Loftus Road Stadium. As well as an away game to Real Bedford, which saw an almost full bus load of Argyle fans travel to London, with the support from Green Taverners and donations from Elburton Post Office.
Heathers hard work throughout this season has not gone unnoticed. Not only is she a popular name amongst the fans, Heather was also nominated and shortlisted for FAWNL Fan of The Year. Heather’s shortlist saw her travel to the iconic Wembley Stadium on Sunday to attend the end of season awards, and put Plymouth Argyle and the South West on the map.
Thank you so much for all you do 💚🤍👏
