Sunday match report U14 Griffins v Pilgrims

Our Under 13 girls made their league debut in the Under 14 Division One League, taking on the challenge of competing against older and more experienced opposition.

They made a slow start and found themselves 6–2 down early in the game. However, the girls showed excellent character and determination to fight their way back, drawing level at 7–7.

From that point, they grew in confidence and adapted brilliantly to the increased physicality and intensity of the Under 14 division. Their work rate, teamwork and commitment were outstanding as they battled hard throughout the remainder of the match.

Pilgrims pulled away in the closing stages to secure a 14–10 victory, but the result does not reflect the quality of our U13 side’s performance.

For their first outing at Under 14 Division One level, this was a fantastic effort. The girls showed resilience under pressure, adapted well to the demands of the game and demonstrated that they can compete confidently at this level.

A huge well done to all the girls on an excellent first league performance, with plenty of positives to build on! 👏🏐

Phoenix 18–17 Dart Bolts

What a first game back for Phoenix! 🔥

We faced Dart Bolts in a closely fought contest, eventually coming away with the win. Once settled into the game, the girls played to their strengths, with excellent defence throughout. Centre court and forwards took opportunities and persevered, and a tense final quarter saw Phoenix hold their nerve to take the win in the last minute! 👏

Phoenix 12–37 Ivy Jets

The second game of the day was against Ivy Jets, and it was a really tough match. However, the girls kept their heads up and deserve huge credit for their efforts and attitude throughout. 💪

All areas of the court fought hard and kept the energy levels high. Although we were unable to match the opposition on this occasion, the girls showed great resilience and continued to work hard right until the final whistle.

Well done, Phoenix! ❤️🖤
