Despite the season coming to a premature and dramatic end, we had one of the most successful seasons UPNC has ever seen. Our 1st Team went unbeaten for 27 consecutive games as well as claiming the Plymouth District Netball League (PDNL) Prem A Title, which had previously been held by Plymouth Pilgrims for 22 years. They were also Conference Cup Finalists and smashed their BUCs division, getting pr
omoted to Western 1A. Our 3rd Team won the PDNL Division 1, alongside 4s, 5s and 6s placing third in their respective divisions. On top of all of this, we also offered a social netball league, where over 100 girls played against one another each week in a fun, non-competitive environment. We have maintained our Gold Icons status, proving that we are one of the best clubs on campus. UPNC also offers chances to get involved with many aspects of Netball, including coaching and officiating. Fundraising for Charity has a big presence in the club, in 2019/2020 we raised around £2,000 for PAPYRUS through many events such as Sports Tournaments, Quizzes, Bake Sales and the Plymouth 10k. Despite the UK going into lockdown, UPNC were up and running (literally) to raise £1500 for NHS Charities. Last year we supported Coppafeel, even dying our hair pink to raise awareness of checking your b***s. This year we will be raising money for a charity called MIND, who provide advice and support and empower people with mental health issues, no matter how big or small. Considering the challenges of the last 18 months, we feel this is very relevant to all of us and have already kick started our fundraising with some of our members running the Plymouth 5k and 10k and raising over £350! COVID may have had other ideas for Walkabout Wednesdays but UPNCs epic socials will make a return. Despite the very anticipated annual Tour being cancelled for the last 2 years, it will be back bigger and better next year! Old Girls and Freshers, we look forward to welcoming you all back to Plymouth to make up for lost time and hopefully kick start a much better year. Can't wait to meet you all,
Beth (Chair) and Kayleigh (Vice-Chair) x
