Of course we think she's amazing 🤩

Of course Jaz Turner is going to be amazing in the Worldstar ⭐️

THE NEWS IS OUT!!!

Our latest entrant is the formidable Jaz Turner 🥳

Having reached out to Jazz after her incredible solo, non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland to hear the words "Your WorldStar race is actually what kicked all this off!" was incredible!

Jazz is a full-time wheelchair user and suffers from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) “As my condition has progressed, the one thing I made sure of was that I never stopped sailing.”

Her bid for the WorldStar will make her the first female, disabled sailor to complete such a challenge.

Due to Jazz’s condition, she is seeking a yacht that will fit her specific needs. Her ideal specifications include:

• Length: 35–40 ft
• Hull: Long integral keel with keel or skeg rudder
• Rig: Ketch, cutter, or sloop
• Condition: Structurally sound with functional sea c***s, skin fittings, and windows, ready to be adapted for solo ocean racing.

Any vessel chosen will undergo modifications to support Turner’s solo circumnavigation, including reinforcement for safety straps, additional handles, and specialised equipment installations.

Jazz is also seeking sponsorship opportunities – both for the vessel itself and for the extensive outfitting required for a non-stop global race. Supporters will play a direct role in enabling this groundbreaking campaign, aligning with a story of courage, grit, and adventure that resonates with sailing enthusiasts worldwide.

This search for the right boat, alongside sponsorship and equipment support, is now critical to making her campaign a reality.

If you want to get involved and help Jazz achieve her dream, drop us a DM!

Welcome to WorldStar Jazz! We're looking forward to watching you sail around the world!

We are good at this stuff!!!

We interrupt this broadcast to bring you breaking news 👇

We are absolutely delighted to welcome solo ocean racing legend Pip Hare as the Patron of WORLDSTAR 2026 - our flagship round-the-world sailing event.

This is more than a title; it's a homecoming ⭐

Pip Hare Ocean Racing's journey as a solo oceanic sailor began with the Royal Western Yacht Club.

Back in 2009, she tackled one of her first major solo races, the OSTAR, hosted by the RWYC - a bold crossing that set her on the path to becoming one of the most respected figures in offshore sailing today.

“I began my solo racing career with the Royal Western Yacht Club when I competed in the OSTAR solo transatlantic race in 2009. Back then, I was struggling to break into the larger, professional races, but competing in the OSTAR gave me the opportunity to race on terms I could afford, and the racing was excellent. The Royal Western Yacht Club is not just offering a race but also building a supportive community that helps sailors prepare and gives them the best chance to achieve their goals. I have no doubt that if the WORLDSTAR had been running in the early years of my career, I would have been on the start line.”
