The club will shortly be opening at 25 Parade, Barbican PL1 2NY Plymouth. We don't intend to create website as it will be a private club with no weddings etc and so we will use the "Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club" page to let members and others what is going on at the club and on the water in Plymouth. A big "thank you' to Rob Beaton who has let us piggyback on the "Sail Plymouth" page for many years. There will be a message button (wrote massage initially -but not the sort of club!) soon so that members and others can seek information about the club and hopefully join. We'll let you know as soon as we are open and the club will be open to visiting water users. We hope our over 500 followers will keep following by clicking on the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club page.

Have you seen the movie TENET yet? If you did you will see SailGP action on the big screen. However, in 2021 that action comes to Plymouth with seven teams, including Great Britain SailGP Team battling it out on Plymouth Sound. If you don't want to miss the action make sure you are in Plymouth on 17th and 18th July!
While you are in town, why not visit the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club on The Parade in the Barbican for a coffee or beer? Visiting sailors are welcome.

The newly relocated club looks good to go. The planning permission to move into the new premises on the Barbican is imminent and the licence to serve a glass of wine or beer has been granted. Coronovirus rules means that a big, opening bash is off but keep your eye on this page and we'll let you know what special opening we will have. Prospective members are invited to attend.
New members (mostly berth holders from Sutton Harbour) have joined previous members who have continued their membership. The working party will be leading the set up of this new incarnation and welcome new input, there are vacancies for a Rear Commodore (Sail), Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary, no special skills are needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to give little time to the Club
If anyone else wants to join and be a part of the new phase of this ancient but moden (RYA affiliated) Royal club please phone 07920233621 or email [email protected] for more information.

Update on the new Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club clubhouse and invitation for membership

Any prospective new members or volunteers who would like to get involved please feel free to email me directly [email protected] or phone on 07920233621

The club has decided on 25 The Parade as its new clubhouse. It is a quiet spot on the Barbican, less than a 5-minute walk from Sutton Marina and 15 mins from QAB, with good disabled parking as well as other local parking options. It will be a private club, run by members for members, their visitors and visiting yachtsmen. A place to go to meet like-minded people for a drink or a coffee. Holding members themed evenings and events. We believe it will be a fantastic venue for our current members as well as a draw for new members and visiting yachtsmen.

The Building
The building at Basket Ope is across 3 floors, it has disabled access and facilities on the ground floor, where the bar and coffee pod will be situated. On the first floor there will be more of a lounge with soft seating with journals and books available, our trophy cabinets, along with a small kitchen and laundry facilities. The second floor will be the second phase, extra loos and showers.

Sailing.
We came to a standstill on dinghy sailing as we simply could not find enough volunteers to support it. Nothing further has been done as all clubs’ activities were put on hold, we will send out information as and when we get it. Our yacht sailing plans were also postponed. For those of us with yachts it has been great that we have be able to get out and about for day trips and several of us have been out together be it round the Eddystone or more locally and anchoring up for lunch. Several of us are off to Fowey this weekend as the forecast looks good. More to come and soon.

Our Current Status
We have applied for Planning permission with Plymouth City Council. We have fully costed the fitting of the premises and identified good value, good quality products.. We can now give you a view of the kind of ambience we hope to achieve in the pictures attached. Colours and furnishings will not be exactly as shown, but very close, it does give a sense of the different feel of the ground floor (modern and sharp) and first floor (traditional).

We are now actively signing up new members now.
For that you will become members of The Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht club, be able to join our sailing ventures and be able to apply for the Royal Warrant which permits you to fly our Blue Ensign. We would also love people to volunteer to help us set up the new building from scratch, which will be really exciting. In our new world we are also looking for people who may want to become flag officers as we have some vacancies. We are looking at a tentative date to get into the building at the end of August (permissions depending)

What we will have as a group of RPCYC members, is something to look forward to, we hope you will join with us as we move the club to the next stage of its journey.
