Wembury Bay Riding School We are a family run livery yard that offers riding throughout the year from a very special place.

The yard sits at the end of a lane overlooking the Atlantic ocean to the South West with views to the Mewstone, Rame Head and on a fine day to the famous Eddystone lighthouse and beyond. The yard sits in 50 acres of woodland and grazing in the heart of an area designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, bounded on 2 sides by National Trust land. You can join an organised hack through our

woodlands, bridal paths or gallop along the coast path taking in the fresh air and views as you go. The Saturday Club is very popular with young people of all ages, whether it's taking part in the ABRS courses or just attending for the fun of spending all day with horses all day

At approximately 4:15 a.m. this morning, an unknown individual entered our property and was observed walking around and looking through the yard. We do not recognize this person and have no reason to believe they had permission to be on the premises.

This is private property, and no one should be entering the site when there are no staff members present. We are sharing this as a reminder that unauthorized access is not permitted.

If anyone has any information regarding this individual or their presence on the property, please contact us directly.

Our CCTV is situated across the yard, any person entering the property will be recorded and reported appropriately.

The horses are being very well looked after during the heat, and we’re taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe and comfortable. This includes:

💦 Extra baths
🌳 Plenty of shade
🐎 Slow and steady hacks or lessons

If you would prefer to change your lesson to a shaded hack instead, please just ask 😊

If you’re riding with us this week, please remember to come prepared:

✔️ Light but appropriate clothing
✔️ A t-shirt that covers the shoulders
✔️ Long trousers (no skirts or shorts)
✔️ Full boot-style shoes that cover the ankles/foot

And most importantly:

☀️ Wear suncream
💧 Bring plenty of cold water

For anyone booked onto our “Beach specials” this week we’d just like to give you a heads up that it may not be possible to get down there. What a fab evening doing some jumping in our after school sessions, working on straightness and consistency! These ponies were faultless 💖
