💔 Today has been one of the hardest days for our little riding school. 💔

Owning horses really, really sucks sometimes. The love, laughter and memories they give us are priceless, but unfortunately, the heartbreak is also part of the reality we face.

Our darling boy Sambo came to us just a few short weeks ago. After spending some time isolating, settling in and absolutely scoffing his face, he joined us at the yard and quickly became one of the most loved horses here. ❤️

From the moment he arrived, we did everything we could for him. He had his medical checks and investigations, and when further issues started to become apparent, we were prepared to give him all the time, patience, treatment and care he needed.

Sadly, yesterday Sambo became extremely unwell and was rushed to Western Counties Equine Hospital. The amazing team of vets worked tirelessly throughout the night to try and help our boy.

This afternoon, we received the heartbreaking news that his body physically couldn’t continue, and the decision was made to let him go. 💔

We are absolutely devastated.

In such a short space of time, Sambo brought so much love and joy into our lives. He was a silly, friendly, affectionate boy who managed to make a huge place in our hearts in such a short amount of time.

Today is a reminder of the reality of owning horses — especially when running a riding school. We can’t always hide the bad days behind a smile, and today is one of those days where we need a little time, privacy and love before we can put our brave faces back on for our wonderful customers. ❤️

Alongside the heartbreak, we are also now facing a very large veterinary bill. As a small, family-run business, this is a huge financial blow, particularly after doing everything we possibly could to help Sambo.

So, if you were thinking about booking a lesson, buying a block, booking a party, arranging a hack or simply coming along to support our business, we would be incredibly grateful for your custom. ❤️

Every booking really does make a difference and will help us cover Sambo’s veterinary costs and continue to care for all of the horses we love so much.

We don’t want this to take away from Sambo’s life, because he was so much more than a vet bill. He was a beautiful boy who deserved every chance we could give him, and we would make the same decision to fight for him every single time.

Sambo, you were truly worth the heartbreak. ❤️

Looking for a fun, active and educational day out for your home-educated child?
Join us for our Horse Riding Home Education Session
- a hands-on experience designed to build confidence, responsibility and riding skills in a supportive, friendly environment.
🐴Time: Thursdays 10:00am - 2:00pm
🐴Cost: £30 per person
During the session, children will:
- Learn to ride (tailored to ability)
- Groom and care for the horses
- Discover stable management skills

🌊Build confidence, teamwork and independence
- Make new friends with other home-educated children

☀️ Well, that’s a wrap for summer! ☀️

It’s certainly been a hot one, but what a summer it’s been! 🥰

We are so incredibly grateful to every single person we’ve had the pleasure of meeting, welcoming and riding with over the past few months. Thank you for choosing to spend your time with us — time really does fly when you’re having fun! 🐴💕

A huge shoutout also goes to all of our wonderful volunteers, and especially our amazing staff, who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Without you, this yard simply wouldn’t run, and we appreciate everything you do more than you know! ❤️

But, of course, the most appreciated members of the yard have to be our wonderful horses. 🐴 They work their socks off to please us and give their very best every single day, and they truly deserve all the love and fuss they get.

They’re now enjoying a very well-deserved week off — scoffing their faces, rolling in the mud and playing with their friends in the field! 😂🌱💕

Thank you for making this summer so special. We can’t wait to see what the next season brings! 🍂🐎

Tuesday- Pony care morning,
9:30am-12:30pm / £35pp.
Learn the basics of tacking up, all round care and enjoy a 1/4 + 1/4 lesson and hack! A great introduction to horse riding suitable to anyone.

Wednesday-
1/2 hour hack, 10:30am. £25pp.
Extended tots, 12:30pm-2pm/£35pp
A longer lesson followed by a longer hack, grooming and a bit of animal care.

Thursday-
Beginner hack, 10am-11am £40pp.
Enjoy a scenic, slower paced hack around the coastal village and bridle ways. Great for any abilities!

Yesterday we got an early start and beat the heat for a lovely extended hack! ☀️🐴

It’s a route we haven’t offered before, but it certainly didn’t disappoint! Beautiful scenery, happy horses and plenty of smiles along the way. 💕

Halfway around, we stopped at a wonderful local pub, where the horses were greeted with treats, fresh water and even the option of a nice cool hose-down (although, thankfully, they didn’t feel they needed it!).

Meanwhile, we enjoyed a lovely cold drink of our own! 🍹

What more could you ask for on a summer’s ride? How fab! 🐎✨

Loaners camp 2026 🩵
What an absolutely fun filled two days these guys have had. Such a joy to watch them all grow into kind, wonderful little riders 🥰
We think everyone will sleep well in their own beds today 😅🫶🏻

Great day for all our staff today refreshing their first aid! ⛑️ 🩹
All our staff are first aid trained, DBS checked and many of us even hold other qualifications away from horses like SEN and autism awareness based qualifications 😄 you can never know too much! 👏🏻
